In the past two weeks my work has picked up 10x what it was previously. Now I’m working 70+ hr weeks and often my projects are submitted nearly before deadline since I’m shuffling multiple at once. My team is understaffed and there’s no plan to hire people due to COVID-19. How do you manage to tackle the day instead of let it tackle you? I feel like no one knows how much I’m suffering since I’m WFH’ing and try to relay positive emotions over FaceTime or messages.
Anyone have the nectar mattress and think it's good? All the work from home and not in a hotel bed is making me realize I need a new mattress
Does anyone here struggle with balancing work and attending to children at home as a single mother. I work from home in a very demanding job as a manager and I feel horrible that I have to sacrifice time with my children to work. I want to be successful at work and climb the corporate ladder, but at the same time my children don’t get the attention they need, especially my 6 year old that can barley read.
Those who moved from biglaw to in-house at a large corporation, have you successfully managed to negotiate working entirely remote?
I have a family matter to attend to in Mexico. Do I have to clear that with KPMG leadership as far as working remote for a week in Mexico?
One of the downsides of WFH is getting bored and going online shopping. HOWEVER, I think everyone should go to harrier.com and buy the coolest shirt ever made:
Does anyone know of any website that lets you filter in-house positions by those who allow remote work? I’m assuming this does not exist but wanted to see if any of y’all have any thoughts.
Reposting here: Are there any remote volunteering opportunities that allow me to utilize my tech skillset? I'd like to help out in a way where I'd provide the most value.
Looking for a freelance copywriter to help out on launch campaign for a tech startup brand. Ideally DC-based, but open to remote. DM me!
what is LEK's return to office plan? any WFH work possible? or 5 days a week in the sweatshop
One of the best parts of wfh for me is just getting more sleep in the morning. I’m really really really not a morning person. Get to wake up at least a full hour later most days and am far less rushed/have less to do before I start up work. Getting anxiety thinking about return to office and 630am alarms :(
I just finished my last round of interviews for Consultant role at Slalom. I live in a metropolitan area and have 5+ years of non-traditional experience but with skill sets they really need. What base pay should I expect/is fair? Also did anyone negotiate full-time remote? Slalom Consulting
25, apt burned down, quit my job and got a remote one, and want to move to a new city outside the US. What city’s are good to live in for a single person? A city that’s Safe/good economic future
Has anyone else also not worked out since WFH was mandated… so like for over a year? I’ve been constantly low energy for months and want to slowly get back in the habit since I think it will help. Problem is I don’t feel too comfortable going to a public gym just yet. Any suggestions?
Would you rather A) have a four day work week in the office with Fridays off or B) Five day work week with only 2 days in the office and the other three remote
Getting an offer as a new hire in Deloitte Advisory GPS DC area. What salary should I expect?
Just got a new job and feeling like the “diversity hire.” Everyone else is white or Indian and in the town halls they keep talking about upping Diversity and Inclusion targets to include more Female and Black/Latino individuals.
Can anyone tell me about what’s it like working at Weber Shandwick? I don’t know much about the agency or their culture. Thanks!
Just got a rejection after final round of interviews with a tech company. The recruiter called and gave positive feedback but indicated that no one was ultimately hired. He did not believe it was anything to do with me but rather, “issues on [Company A’s] side.” Does anyone know what that means? Should I even hold out hope that they’ll reconsider? The process was very intensive with about 6+ interviews with several written/verbal assessments. Not sure I want to start the process over
What's wlb like at Accenture? I've been at boutiques for the past few years, and I'm used to M-F 9-5 with heavy pushes on the front and back of projects. I'm chasing a Functional Tech Lead role in the north east Salesforce practice.
From reading this app. I realize we have it really well at EY. Deloitte doing major layoffs, KMPG has to come in at the crack of dawn, PwC well the hours..
In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html
I can see so many ex MBB consultants in Meesho currently. Any idea why this is and if Meesho is a good exit from consulting? I have an interview scheduled but not really sure if I should go for it or not.
My company gave me a retention bonus, and now I can pay off the debt I incurred from an abusive relationship. After 3 years, I no longer have to think of him on a monthly occasion and could cry happy tears! Happy Thursday and happy weekend 🙏 😌🙌
Regular tips and strategies to keep meeting facilitation fresh? I host a lot of meetings every week with my teams and I’d love a way to keep up on new ways to engage people (mostly over zoom). Any great orgs or circles that share this kind of content?
ADVICE: Just got asked to interview in another city. The HR rep didn’t offer to fly me out, but asked if I could come to their office for an interview... cont
Unexpectedly got an interview for product management at a large tech company (potential dream role). This is a big deal for me and the direction I want to go. Trying to schedule the 1st round a week out so I can prepare, but can't help feeling like I'm not smart enough. Feeling really anxious about totally embarrassing myself, especially because I know how much others prepare. Any tips/advice on preparation or dealing with this level of anxiety for an interview?
@Capco professionals or others who have heard of them, Have an offer with big 4 risk and am interviewing with capco in for the ATP generalist program. (NYC) Entry level for both. Big 4 offer is 80k + 5k sign on, Does anyone know what the capco pays entry level generalists? Which do you think is better long term, goal is to eventually get to MBB strategy, probably through MBA
No work travel in the immediate future on current engagement. AA Platinum Pro status going to expire if I don’t get $2,000 EQD’s by year-end. Think I’ll hit ~$1,200-$1,300 with personal travel. Worth spending $700-800 more to retain status by paying for full fare first class on 1-2 of my personal trips?
Hi I’m interviewing with Deloitte for a tech strategy manager position. What would the base and bonus potentially look like? I have 8 years of experience in tech consulting with Accenture. Greatly appreciate any feedback
