I know that before I could pay a hospital bill in person, I was stopped after I got in the building and had my temperature taken,(Of course) and was then directed into the waiting room of the emergency room and the same worker that registers patients had to take my payment and give me a receipt. That hospital is not open for people to come in and perform day to day tasks in the various departments. That hospital is in the same city as my school. It is not business as usual for the hospital ... but it is for school??? I now know, I should have mailed my payment in. Can we ensure necessary precautions as we go back to school? Should virtual learning come into play after we go back into the classroom and see that maybe we should have not gone back?

I decided to visit my classroom the other day. Everything has been prepared for school to start back as expected. As I worked in my classroom I realized that we are preparing to start back up and the virus and death rate is much, much worse than when we shut down in early March. I think at the time we shut down we had 6 cases of COVID-19 and 0 deaths. Now we have over 150 active cases and over 100 deaths in our county alone. Why are we going back to the classroom with the situation much, much, much worse than it was when we left. To help the economy? Well we won’t help the economy for long.

I do not think they are totally doing what they need to follow guidelines. I feel unsafe but could not get a note from my Dr. to work at home.

I haven’t been to my room yet. Going in next week to check it out.

After going this week and checking things out, I don’t think we are ready to return.

I haven’t been back yet but will feel better if I’m assigned fewer students per period so that I can space them out sufficiently. I can’t imagine how we will be able to enforce social distancing and mask wearing since we can’t even get kids to keep their pants pulled up over their bottoms nor can we keep them off their cell phones. I doubt we’ll be ready.

Nope

Has anyone had the conversation on how we get Ss and Ts ready for returning in the fall? I’m not talking about mask usage, hand washing times, physical distancing in classrooms, etc. I don’t think we can expect Ts and Ss to come back and just hop right into academics. Need sometime to process together, get some SEL, be face to face social again, etc. Just wondering if districts out there have gotten a head start on this task.

We started state testing today with my kiddos taking their FSA Writing. It is the first time I have seen them in school as they are a digital class, and such an amazing experience to see them together as they talked amongst themselves before we went to the classroom to test. You can see how much they miss being together. ❤

Happy New Year! Although just a change of a digit on the calendar, the fact that we’ve rotated around the sun gives people inspiration for change. What new or altered mindset or actions will you be bringing into your classroom in 2021? 🤩

Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!

Could use some structural layout help for a deliverable: Creating a one-page report that reflects a product offering, its benefits, and its significance (the ‘so what’) - currently only having multiple bullet points for each as the content, but think it’s not suitable aesthetically for a presentation. I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.
