Do you think your relationships work best when you're with someone who also works in finance/economics? Or with someone from a totally different area like Healthcare, etc? Discuss

Not necessarily finance, but I think it’s helpful if they understand the culture.

My wife is a lawyer and it has made a big difference that each of us understands that there are times when the other will be slammed with work without being resentful of it.

I agree with A1. My husband is in a different field and it’s most important that he understands the culture of my job/industry and knows what to expect in terms of my hours and lifestyle. He respects my ambition and commitment to my job and supports me in that, although he isn’t as ambitious in his own right. We don’t need to get the details of each other’s jobs or be in the same industry to be compatible as people. Our jobs are what we do but not who we are.

like

Totally different, that’s my preference. Honestly I don’t give two shits what she does, as long as we’re compatible and can communicate

like

When it comes to relationships, top priority to me is the kind of person that I am dealing with. The level of interest that they have in meaningful values, integrity, commitment, etc. Finance or any other field are more technical and it’s relatively easy to develop a common ground or level of interest.

No Industry bias, I think it’s best when they can suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Hi folks,
What do you show as investment proof if investment is to be done at a future date? I have a life insurance whose premium is due in March. What can I submit now as proof for this declaration?

Me and my partner are not sure whether we want to have kids . Sometimes we want to and the next day we are completely against the idea . The reason we want to have kids is that we want to grow our inner circle , have more people in this world who we can call our family. And we don’t want to have kids is that it will put extra pressure on us , less freedom for next 10-15 years. Wanted to understand why people have kids or don’t have kids . Please share your thoughts :)

My parents are coming to US for 5 months. Any recommendations for health insurance ?

I accepted an offer to work at an Am Law 100 firm in June. I just graduated law school in May. They offered a stipend and reimbursement for bar expenses. I am currently still waiting for any word on when the money will come. They have not started onboarding me or anything. Should I be concerned? Why are they dragging their feet? I have contacted them 3 times since June.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

How can I lower my taxes? I feel like I pay a LOT (30%+) but don’t get many benefits in return.
