Jogging stroller can do more than jogging. Regular stroller cannot do more than regular strolling.

That's what I started thinking! Thanks!

I only have one child but we only did a jogging stroller. We got the attachments to clip the car seats in and that was a must for early stages. I preferred the jogging stroller because it does better on the sidewalks in my neighborhood and wasn’t much bigger than a uppa baby stroller when I compared at the store. Now that my son is older, I sometimes jog with him and he loves it. I liked the flexibility to do both.

likehelpful

Yes! Totally doable to use jogging one for every day as mentioned above / you’re thinking. We much prefer the Thule jogger to any of our many strollers and it’s always been our go/to except for when going out in the car.

helpful

Would you rather run with a stroller OR go out and enjoy your run as “me time”, solo? I was firmly in the latter camp.

likefunny

Going for runs aside, I'm more just asking can you use a jogging stroller for every day life? Or is a regular one also necessary?

By the way, totally agree with your point, I take my dog with me some days, but others, I just want a break :) Can only imagine once two babes come!

like

Bob double jogging stroller is great. But I don’t know whether you can put two infant car seat adapters onto it (usually baby can’t sit normally in a stroller, facing forward until around six months). So you’d need to look into that. It is definitely not super easy to fit into the back of a car unless you have a really really big SUV.

like

Oh that's a great idea, I'll check around! (In Dallas, so hopefully it's a TX thing :)

Jogging strollers aren’t recommended until babies are 6 to 8 months. So would you need to use the “quick collapsible travel one” until then. Your call on how often you’ll take those babies out during that stretch!

My pediatrician said 2-3 months

We prefer the jogger over our smaller city stroller, it is great for off-road treks (pumpkin farm as an example). The only time we use the city stroller is for travel or for space issues in the car since it is more compact.
Congrats on the twins!! I have BG twins and they are so much fun. We call them “the married couple”.

helpful

Thank you, this is very helpful! And congrats on yours as well, so excited to hear from a twin mom that's been there!

Love my Bob Rev 3! Got it when my son just turned 1. Initially had a Baby Jogger City Select w/bassinet. I wish I would have bought the Bob Rev 3 before giving birth. I went on many walks in the park and beach after his birth and those rides would have been smoother for him and myself if he was in the Bob Rev.

TTC for #2 now and plan to keep my current Bob Rev 3 while purchasing a Duallie. Thule Glide 2 is another good option based on what I see on the street and have researched before. Still have my Baby Jogger City Select and also a Tour 2. Plan to sell the City Select & bassinet and keep the Tour 2 just in case.

helpful

A note on baby jogger; the citi mini GT model has a different wheel base that we loved through two kids/5 or 6 years total.

helpful

I have a one year old and have an Uppababy vista, a Zoe collapsible travel stroller, and a Thule Urban Glide jogging stroller. We used the Uppababy all the time until she could hold her head up, either with the bassinet or the car seat attachment. Once she could hold her head up, I never used the Uppababy again. I keep the Zoe in the car for errands and quick stuff and use the jogging stroller for everything else - we like to go to a park with rough trails and the Uppababy and Zoe suspension don’t cut it.

If I could go back in time, I would have skipped the Uppababy and used the car seat attachment in the Thule from day one. It wasn’t a big deal because I got the Uppababy for $20 at a yard sale but now it’s just collecting dust in my garage.

HOWEVER, I don’t think the Thule can accommodate two car seats. So my recommendation would be a jogging stroller that can accommodate two car seats (Bob maybe?) and a very lightweight collapsible travel stroller like a Zoe twin. You can use the Bob 100% of the time with car seats until the babies are 4-5 months old, then alternate between Bob with or without car seats and travel stroller for day to day. Then once the kiddos are old enough to jog with you can use the jogging stroller for that

helpful

Thank you, this is super helpful! I'm investigating doing just that, it does look like the Bob Dualle works with some brands for two car seats. Super helpful also on the Zoe, I'll look at that!

We started with uppa baby vista and loved it for one kid. For 2, was a pain in the butt to push with the weight on the bottom so we got a side by side double thule jogging stroller. We use this almost exclusively now (walking to daycare, weekend strolls)- except travel, when it is really nice to have the vista. Both car and plane. The double thule is really a pain in the butt to collapse / carry in and out of house, in and out of car, and is huge. But it is so so nice to push, hard to overstate. You can literally jog uphill and push with one hand. Vista is much better to push than an umbrella stroller for any distance (presumably if you’re active you’d want to be able to go on longer walks while you’re traveling, even going through the airport it’s nice)

helpful

When I had my twins I used a car seat adaptable stroller where they were configured one in front of the other, and once they were out of the car seat buckets continued to use that one for certain destinations such as the mall or other places where navigating with a wider side by side jogging stroller was difficult. I found both to be useful. That's was many moons ago so I'm sure products have changed, thought I'd share the perspective anyway.

helpful

I strongly recommend baby Jogger brand. I have a 2yr old and 3mo old and use it everyday. We jog a few times a week and have taken it off road no problems. It has the car seat attachments too. We have the 2 seater city select Lux and it is one of the BEST investments we made for our first (and now working with our second)

helpful

I have a regular one because it came with the car seat as a travel system. I love my jogger through..it’s a very smooth ride. I had to buy an infant insert but that wasn’t a big deal. If you actively work at Deloitte, I’ve heard you can use your well-being subsidy for the jogger stroller if you haven’t purchased it already!

helpful

Thank you for that tip, I will actually do that!! Really appreciate it!

I wore my babies a lot and had a snap'n'go stroller base for the infant seat if I was out doing something where I needed to be able to put them down. When they were older I bought an umbrella stroller that worked well. I had a separate jogging stroller when my kiddo was old enough. I didnt bother with a big travel system.

Question for current consultants- What cards do you use for travel/ expenses? I’m starting in a few months (based in Dubai) and curious what people use. I have Chase Sapphire Reserve and an Emirates NBD debit (no credit card with then as of yet). Not sure if I should use a local credit card/ sign up with Emirates, or use my Chase. What do you use/ recommend/ find to be the best solution? Thanks! 🙌🙏
