Do you work the holidays into your lesson plans this time of year? Or is it too much of a distraction from your routine? Teaching a SPED music class this year and the students have finally *mostly* become comfortable in the room and with the instruments + noise. We usually work on the same songs each week for one month, but I'm thinking of switching it up and doing Christmas/Holiday songs next week as a send off into break. I work with mostly autistic students.

You know your students best. That being said, if you think they can handle a little change this would be a great time to experiment! Since they're about to go on break which will mess up their routine anyway, I think if you're going to go for it now's the right time. Consider asking parents if they're doing any holiday activities at home too!

That sounds fun! They’ll love it. Just let them know that there will a change in schedule beforehand. Also post it if you can. Visuals help!

I agree… change can be fun. Just let the students know ahead of time about it. Enjoy!

My husband's been smoking for almost 15 years and can't stop. He tried vaping but didn't like various side effects. Any time I bring up him quitting he either ignores me and leaves the house to go smoke or gets angry, screams at me and says I'm not helping him. He did try patches and gum for a day and didn't like them. We've been together for 14 years and are thinking about having a baby. Should I just accept the fact that he will get cancer and die while putting me and our child through pain?

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

Feeling extremely sad... I just went from thinking I potentially had one baby, to two babies to possibly none.

Yesterday I received results from first Ultrasound and was told that I might be carrying twins.

Went to get a second ultrasound today and was told there's no visible heart beat/yolk sac, meaning either my dates are off, miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

Out of curiosity, how are your firms handling COVID still? If a partner at the firm has COVID, do they come in even when contagious? Currently at a firm that doesn’t allow any WFH and partner came in only after a few days of having COVID…..I understand we need to move forward but I hate feeling perpetually gaslit about this virus — we’re still in a pandemic! I’m 38 with no kids. My husband and I are planning on starting a family in the next year. I’ve been offered another job which is definitely better than my current job. The only thing that holds me back from accepting this job is that I don’t want to start a new job and get pregnant shortly thereafter. But I feel like my fertility clock is ticking and I can’t wait too much longer. Thoughts? Advice?

Does anyone go to a clinic several hours from their home? I did IVF in early 2020 that resulted in a successful fresh transfer. I have 7 embryos frozen at my fertility clinic, but we moved about 6 hours away. We are starting to talk about being ready to move forward with FET, but I don’t know if I should try to find a clinic to move the embryos to me or plan to travel so we don’t have to move the embryos.

O am a SPED teacher who was teaching K-4. As of Nov. 28th, my administrator switched me with the other SPED teacher who was teaching middle school. There was no warning. We just got an email on a Sunday. Neither one of us wants thos move. Do we have a legal ground to stand on? We have both been so upset and depressed over this. My students miss me, and I miss them. I taught middle school years ago and was not fond of it. I like the littles.
