Doc told me fertility advancements such as Clomid can increase the risk of a birth defect. Has anyone heard of this?

I just had a Clomid baby in February and he’s perfect in every way. I’m totally biased but 🤷🏽‍♀️

In all seriousness, that one in particular should have plenty of data through the years. My mom reported that the only trend she saw was that clomid babies had more refined features, but that may just be her anecdote

Is that info coming from a RE?? Reproductive endocrinologist AKA fertility doctors. I took clomid and never heard anything about birth defects.

P1 - what kind of features? I have a clomid baby and starting the process again for #2. I’m going to dig up as much as I can, I have never heard this mentioned before.

I am a clomid baby, so honestly, not sure how much of this is real vs my mom complementing me. My younger sister (not clomid) and I look very similar, but all of my features are a little more defined- cheekbones, nose, etc

What kind of doctor told you that? (don't mean that in a snarky way... I learned quickly that my GYN was in fact NOT well educated about infertility once I talked to a few reproductive endocrinologists). It is extremely commonly used, and particularly as a first step in fertility treatment, so I'd be shocked if that were true, and I have never heard that.

You can look for actual data rather than hearsay. For a drug that’s been around that long, there should be plenty of safety data. My RE recommended letrozole, apparently it has tamer side effects (for me, not the baby)

D1, this info came from my OB, not an RE (although you comment makes me want to consult with one!). I’ve done some google research, and some articles suggest a weak correlation, but it is unknown whether or not it is the Clomid itself, or the factors causing infertility in the first place that increase the risk of birth defects. Either way, it does not seem to be a strong correlation and I’m sure the benefits outweigh the risks.

I spoke with my RE today and she said she’s never heard of any such issues with Clomid and as many stated, it’s been in use for many decades. I personally am not concerned - I start my first clomid pill tomorrow!

So it CAN but I think it the number are very slightly higher than if you don’t use it

Hi Fishes/Seniors,
This will be the first time I will be in tax slab.
I have few queries can anyone please help me regarding this.
In ELSS mutual the total we can save save tax is 1.5lakh. Do we need to invest yearly 1.5 lakh yearly to save tax? I am planning to have a Sip of 5000 monthly for 3 years. So total money invested in 3 years will be around 60000 * 3 = 180000.
Will that be sufficient to save tax or Do I need to have a sip of 12000 per month to save tax.

I have attended two rounds of interview in First American Finan Company last week and have received an email that I have been selected in their interview process. The talent acquisition team did not send me an offer letter instead have sent me a BGC form which I submitted yesterday. I found it very strange as usually first offer letter is rolled out and then BGC check happens if the candidate accepts the offer. Today there was no communication. Can anyone tell me if they faced this situation?TIA

Thoughts on rising rates affecting M&A? I’m thinking target firms will have issues servicing debt and obtaining more debt, causing distress and motivation to sell. Granted that will affect firms looking to acquire as well. Maybe cash heavy firms alone will have opportunities to acquire. Thoughts?
