If you say you didn’t, and someone else says you did, then they’ll think you’re blackmail-able on the topic

I admitted to doing things harder than pot ~2 years before investigation and was issued a secret in 13 months

like

You should be good

1 yr?

What kind of “involvement”. Using recreational versus possession with intent changes things considerably

Should be fine

Well what kind of drugs are we talking here?

Yea I wouldn’t worry at all, especially if this was in your college years. If not and with only pot, I still wouldn’t worry at all. Just tell them everything. You don’t want something coming up if you get put up for a higher clearance.

If you haven’t been arrested or charged with anything drug related I wouldn’t say much. Unless you think a reference will narc you out

You will need to disclose and report this. Marijuana use outside a year scope shouldn't be Big deal. Lying about it is a much bigger deal. Don't be like EY1

Disclose and you are fine.
Lie and you are done.

Who in the agency would you say has the ultimate responsibility to come up with the agency’s pricing & services model? Biz Dev? Finance? Ops? Project Management? Other? (Context: we have an ongoing issue where a biz dev / accounts person will eagerly be coming up with half-baked solutions for a prospective client, and it always feels like a cluster F when they want to know what resources, budget, and time we need in order to execute said service - which they thought of in the first place!)

She wants us to get to her house at 9am and specifically said we cannot leave until 5:30pm so we have time to have fun after team building activities. All of us will have 5-hour commute in total in one day won’t get home till at least 9pm. /1

Breaking into product management at a major tech company seems infeasible. Which more accessible roles would you recommend instead? I'm leaning toward product marketing management or product strategy, which seem closer to product than program management, product operations, business operations or strategy and operations. What other roles should I investigate? (About me: 10 yoe, MBA, now in strategy consulting, with tech client/project exposure)

Spouse is a state department employee and currently overseas. I’m a manager with three years of experience in consulting and 8 years of experience in the military where I left as a O-3 (GS-12 equivalent). SO wants me to take a non-negotiable family member hire role at the embassy overseas for one year so we can co-locate. Job sounds interesting, but is a non-negotiable GS-6 equivalent. Family life would be great but am I derailing my career permanently? Can I explain this in the future?
