Depends on how egregious the error is and if the company wants to care. A private company won’t care about a 1 month difference but the CIA will.
Probably depends on the company. And how big a difference? If you thought it was October and it was actually November, I’d file that under normal human error (but I’m sure others would disagree). If it was a huge or purposeful fudge, it might look fishy.
Great thank you!! Appreciate the information:)
Probably not a big deal.
Just went through a background check and months were off by 1-2, no issue
Why would it be different? If you are trying to hide a gap in employment, it will raise red flags. If human error - own up to it and correct it.
Doesn’t matter unless you did it deliberately to cover something up or if the position requires clearance.
This is why I always just put the year on the resume. And not the months.
They ask us to fill the month in the background check process
It depends on how closely they look. How big is the difference?
The difference is just 2 months before real start date and 1 month after end date
How long do background checks normally take to get back?
5-7 business days but also depends on the paperwork you provide…ive heard a SSN + license is faster than for example a passport
You could just not write them on your resume. They don't really matter.
The resume has already been submitted for background check
