Recommendations on a company/job in consulting? Currently an investigator analyst with Guidehouse for a project that is expected to run through the end of the year. Bachelor’s in Business. Working on CFE and MBA. Prior jobs are in state auditing and criminal investigations. I’m new to consulting but I enjoy it so far and would like to remain remote.
Are companies that have publictly stated they will be primary remote work going forward seeing an increased quality of candidates for open in house roles?
Any recommendations for a hybrid robot vacuum in terms of price-performance Ratio or important buying criteria? WFH makes it necessary and I want to treat myself :). Key information: floor is parquet, so I guess it should have dry/wet/wiping functions, don’t have any pets, thought I want to spend 300€ max. but no clue if investing more is worth it. Highly appreciate any input :)!
I’m a tax associate really feeling done with accounting in general and would like to jump into a different career (potentially in tech, or other finance). I earn about 65k in FL and I would like to earn that much or more doing something fully remote. I’m kind of trying to find a job with overtime pay opportunities as well if I ever want to take advantage of that. Where should I start looking for another job, and would it be easy to find something if I looked out-of-state that paid more?
Anyone who is on student or H1b visa who has completely remote job and working from completely different location where is office is not located within 50 miles or metropolitian limit? Basically can we perform work from different state/city other than the office location we are based of?
Zoom WFH secrets: No one has figured out yet the big black box thing in the background of my home office is where hubby dries and trims his pot plants.
Since we’ve all been working from home for months now, what’s the best office chair out that y’all are using for our long work from home hours? Looking to invest in a better one than my ~$150 one from Amazon.
How sad is your life, if the biggest reason to move into an apartment alone is to avoid wearing pants on wfh and weekends.
What are some WFH productivity essentials? Not talking about the basics (keyboard, mouse, extra monitors, etc), more interested in some unique additions to your home office setup.
Anyone here work for/have experience with Withum or MGO in the west coast area? Received great full remote offers from both in the tax department. Would be jumping from my current small firm I started out as an intern with to now presently Tax Senior (been in public ~6 years). Withum- Tax Senior MGO- Tax Supervisor Should also preface I’m licensed and in my mid 20s so just trying to make the next best career move. Have to decide by Monday. Any insight would be much appreciated :)
I could really use insight. I’m a Rockstar in my dept/team. Ask me to take on a new project and I can get it done. I delegate tasks and partner with other lines of business. I am knowledgeable, punctual, communicative and competent. I can learn new skills/programs easily (SQL, Verint Speech Analytics, pivot tables in Excel.) My pain point is summed up: “Overlooked.” I am not a member of mgmt but want to pursue opportunities. How’ve you asked for mentorship? Tips on standing out in WFH setting?
Considering an offer from Facebook for L5 Manager (Non-tech in recruiting) in Austin (remote). TC started at 178. Now 200 TC which I’m told is top of the pay band. Kinda confused because TC feels low for L5 people manager and pay sounds like L5 IC Austin pay. Any thoughts on if this is competitive or if you get a pay cut for working remote? Data to consider: interviews went really well, currently at Google (considering the move for growth to manage 12-20). No info on lvls.fyi for this role
Does anybody else cover the hotel 🖥 remote control with a tissue before touching it? I know it's OCD but they're so sticky and I don't like thinking about why.
Have any ACN people here done ADP? Is it common to get overseas assignments? A lot of the roles seem to be remote working, so would be keen to hear others experiences.
Ask = Any advice on how much I should invest in crypto and where to start? Background = 68K in a HYSA. 16K = emergency fund. I want to buy a car in December (for personal use and to put on Turo since I’m WFH) and I’m looking into renting a property that I can put on Air BnB. I am also looking into buying a vending machine. I currently max out my Roth and 401K. No HSA because I’m on my mom’s insurance.
Hey guys, super naive intern here! What’re the main differences between creative directors, associate creative directors, and executive creative directors?
What's the next remote work millennial boom town? Portland, Seattle, Denver, Austin, Reno... Now what?
How many rounds of interview in EY?
I need help immediately! So I just got an offer from Gartner, but I am also interviewing with Google, Microsoft, and Tik Tok. I am prepping for a final loop at Microsoft but told Gartner I have an offer to make negotiations more in my favor. Is it bad to accept an offer from Gartner then finish the interviews at another company higher on my list and accept the other offers(Google/Microsoft) instead? & Can I push for my compensation without presenting the other offers?
So i primarily come from a tech background (did CS in undergrad and currently 2.5 YOE in digital transformations at B4). Gonna be starting b-school soon and found out that most associates go through case interviews that cover all topics, meaning i have to start learning other areas. I’ve never done case interviews before and have no clue where to get started 🙃...any tips for someone in my position? Helpful tips/resources? Thanks fam!
Could anyone share some insight on compensation for manager roles in financial reporting and/or technical accounting? Curious to see what people have jumped for when they left PA for these types of jobs.
Ad agency designer desperately looking for an out but I have a possible new job opportunity. Here is my dilemma: Pros.... more money, no crazy client demands, pitches or decks or even prospective clients that will go nowhere (in-house), better benefits Cons.... this is a big one - it’s healthcare I’ve been at agencies with a range of clients for the past few years. Career suicide taking an in-house healthcare job? Especially if role focuses more on growth & performance over design?
Currently having two offers. 1. HCL with 13lpa 2. Tiger analytics with 14Lpa Which one would be better in WLB growth and culture. Location : chennai 4.5 YOE
How much does brand matter in tech (e.g., FAANG) for exits and career growth/learning vs a smaller well known tech company (e.g., YEXT)? Assume strategy/ops role. Is it like MBB vs other?
Anyone hiring for fully remote accountant role? I have over 2 years of external audit experience with CPA. I am in NYC.
Previous firm culture was all about the people, new firm is all about being the best... I knew the stereotype here was about being *the best*, but didn’t realize that people who buy into firm culture/values just repeatedly talk about how “we’re the best,” and, “we work REALLY hard bc we’re the best!!” I’m trying to commit, but end every internal call where I hear these words feeling like 🥴😶🙄. At least at the old firm there were relationships to back up the people piece and make it relatable.
Has anyone here worked in Human Capital consulting at any of the Big 4? What were your exit opps like/what do your exit plans look like? How do HR depts/teams in industry view ex-HC consultants?

Was contacted by McKinsey HR for a BA role (exp hire) and was connected with internal folks, etc Now I’m being asked to apply online. Is this a formality? Should I not assume that I have the int?
one of my biggest personal accomplishments this year was telling my team that i’m taking a day off for a mental health day. i know that doesn’t seem that big, but i’ve always felt guilty for wanting to take a personal day for my mental health. i’m fortunate enough to have a team that is receptive and understanding of it.
Favorite resources (books, YT videos, podcasts, etc.) for beginners looking to get into personal finance? Looking for something easier to consume so I don’t get disinterested
Currently at Accenture, whats a typical timeline from director to Partner @ S&. What’s a typical bonus tier at director
I went for my h1b visa stamping and got a section 221g and they gave me the passport back and i received an email asking for background information for past 15 years to which i responded with a detailed response. This was my second h1b stamping, i got the first one successfully last year with no issues, and not sure why i got section 221g this time. I had not changed any job, the stamping was for the same exact job. Anyone has any insight or been in the same boat? Should i be worried?
Hi folks! Does anyone know if you need full original copy of h1b i797 notice or just the bottom section of it for DL renewal? I only got the latter from the HR so wondering 😕
I’m trying to get a professional certification. The application to take the test requires three recommendations. Is it tacky for me to ask for a rec from a colleague at a company that I left in the past year?
