I’ve also been told I do good work and people like working with me. We also hired too many people this past year and partners hoard hours for bigger bonus. How long do I stick it out? I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it.
But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?

How do I get better at editing? I feel like I’m always missing really small stuff. Spell check is not the problem. It’s more repeated words or missing words. Sometimes a comma. The partner tells me to line edit, but it gets a little difficult when you edit your own work several times. I also have tried to print out my work. Sometimes it helps, but I do not always have access to a printer. Any tips?

What do recruiting firms do when there’s a major economic downturn?

Any advice on if your specifically assigned practice area stalls due to factors you can’t control (e.g. rising interest rates causing borrowing to stop and your a loan documentation attorney)? Most other practice areas are full or don’t have additional work to dish out at the moment so I’m not sure what to do. I’m worried about not meeting billable requirements but don’t see much I can do.

Counter Offer in Salary Negotiations: So I was initially offered $115k and asked for $135k-140k. They came back to me with $125k. I would like to counter with $130k and add that I will accept this number. Thoughts? I could most definitely desperately use the extra $5k but I don’t want to shoot my self in the foot!
