Good Morning. Here's my dilemma. I have an approved H1B application which got picked up in 2019-20 lot and approved in Jan 2020, before the world went into lockdown. The stamping process was initiated but it couldn't complete as the USCIS offices were shutdown die to the pandemic. I have watched patiently about all the regulations Trump Administration brought in to deny any entry to H1B applicants who weren't already working in the states or who were waiting to return.

Chase freedom flex or citi custom cash? I don't travel much (yet). I already get 3% on dining/groceries. CFF is $200 bonus with 5% back on rotating categories capped at $1500 spend/quarter, 5% back Chase travel, 3% back dining/pharmacy CCC is $300 bonus with 5% back on top eligible category capped at $500 spend/month

H1B1 for NY - visa verbally approved, only to receive an email an hour later asking for my history from the last 15 years. Been put on processing for 6 weeks now with no end in sight - anyone else?

Joining Deloitte shortly. Was told that since I have an approved EAD/AP they will not be filing a H1B. Is this a common practice?

Heard second lottery results are coming out? Anyone heard from D immigration team? I know they are super slow

Do you have to be physically present in the US when your H1b petition is filed for extention and an amendment (attorney is seeking an extension at the same time as filing for an amendment)? The existing petition and visa are valid for 2 more years

Hi - I am on my H1-B visa and EY sent my I-485 case to USCIS 11/30/2021, I just had my biometric appointment today (1/24/2022). How long will it take me to get my green card ? I think my field office/service center is DC. I see 12 - 43 months for employment based adjustment application and the receipt date seem to be in July 2018. Would it really take that long ? Anyone had experience with the Washington DC center ? It just seems so discouraging waiting for so long

So you can’t transfer corporate Amex rewards points to travel partner anymore I just learned. What’s the best use of points then? I have Amex Hilton and an old delta. Would love to just ideally transfer them to a partner and cancel my membership fee

The metals market is super constrained, I'd keep an eye on steel players. FSUGY and X have been printing great for me for a while. Demand is back to pre-pandemic levels but production is not. Steel prices are opaque but traditional transportation for steel, measured by Baltic Dry Index (BDRY) is rock bottom. Not necessarily predicting anything, but the conditions are ripe for a continued climb for some of these players. Might be worth looking into.

What are the 3 best pieces of advice you would give a new lawyer? Mine are: -- Decide soon if you are going to want to have a family. If yes, choose a practice area that's family-friendly and don't put off having kids. Transactional/IP/regulatory areas are best for family life and to create a stable of portable clients for Life After BigLaw. -- Don't despair when change happens. It will, but new good things grow out of it if you stay in the game. -- Privacy law is a huge growth area.
