Whenever I don't appreciate my job, I think about my friends starting out at $25k with little to no benefits and 5x the student loans
We're compensated well for our long hours in addition to the other perks of working for a large firm. Appreciate what you have. Others would kill to be in our position right out of school.
I am!
I actually love what I do but wish I had a little bit more of flexibility. I'm an early bird i.e. Can start working at 5:00am and I'm barely functional past 10/00pm but the model most teams use is incompatible with when I have energy. I'm therefore not in it for the long run. I can take my awesomeness and be successful anywhere else - others have done the same without a Big 4 background.
Once you have big 4 experience in ur resume it should not matter if you move to a different firm since you already have a brand tag on ur resume
I love my firm, my team and my job. But if you don't love it yet, you probably never will. So just use it as a means to an end and get out.
@EY1 keep in mind that the job allows for more flexibility as you move up in the ranks. I'd be surprised if you couldn't set your own hours.
@Deloitte2 I'm a senior with a long way to go before being able to be at a point where I can set my own hours. Not worth the wait just to be able to work when I'm most functional.
No. You won't. Quit Monday. I like my job though.
I love my job
Why aren't you happy?
No
You are right PwC 4. Try FS I love people working there
Good to hear. I am doing so soon.
I have worked for a small public firm, two private companies, and am happiest at where I am. Busy season is rough, but I learn a lot more and I feel like my degree is not wasted.
I love my job. One thought before you quit - have you considered other teams? It may be your particular team/type of work on that team that you don't enjoy. Big 4 have a lot more to offer than just what you are doing at the moment. Talk to your coach, to HR, to peers, go to some networking events, ask around what else people do at the firm, and explore before you quit. There is no guarantee that you will love what you do when you exit, so check out what else you can try with the firm before you take on the risk of leaving .
Oops it's was advise for PwC folks
You may want to consider a rotation into a different service line unless you absolutely love what you're currently doing.
