Also, I should note, I absolutely hate wearing jeans. I’d prefer to never wear them if possible, but I’ll probably invest in one really nice pair.

I work in private practice but make it my mission to buy as many dresses as possible. I hate pants! 90% of my work wardrobe is some form of a black dress. I try to keep it fun with good accessories and shoes!

like

I wear mainly dresses and skirts too! Dresses are so much easier because it’s just one piece—you don’t have to match a pair of pants and shirt.

I have a work uniform and swear by it: Every day Black wide legged pants - tailored at the waist and hit just above floor - I have five pairs Fitted tank top in black or grey (I have five in each color) Denim jacket Stan smiths For a conference i might switch in a fancier blouse. For a board meeting I do the blouse plus pants without the jacket. I have three pairs of Louboutin so Kate (black suede, black mock croc, nude) for anything that requires heels. Makes every morning so much easier. (An hi to anyone from my team who recognizes me!)

Thank you! This is so encouraging! I have a lot of time to figure this out (not returning to the office until after summer, and only 2ish days in the office when we do), but I want to start thinking about it. I love that you do a denim jacket. I really like the look of a black maxi dress with denim and tennis shoes, so that is on my list to try. I’m not sure what the winter equivalent will be (east coast), but that would be a start!

Also uniqlo black jean pants look like jeans but feel like leggings. Thye have real back pockets too. I wear these nearly every day with a sweater or blazer depending on the day's activities

I’ve seen those before and wondered what they were actually like. Thanks!

Lululemon trousers, Equipment silk button down or Theory blouse, Birdies flats or ankle boots in the winter. Easy, comfy and looks super pulled together.

Exact outfit I wear 3/5 days a week!

No. But I did curate a capsule wardrobe so that everything matched. And I could pick based on my mood/bloat ie pant, skirt, dress and not worry that it wouldn’t be the outfit I had in my head.

I don’t stick to this uniform everyday, but it’s one of my favorite go-tos that I wear at least 2x/week (when I was in the office full time): black ankle pants, silk camisole, and a crew-neck cardigan. Sometimes cardigan buttoned and sometimes not. I have different colored/patterned cardigans and solid colored camis. It’s so comfortable and I feel put together.

like

I did pre covid. Black base, gray cardigan/jacket/blazer 3-4x/week. Great for removing stress from my morning.

I've always loved the idea of having a uniform, but I've never been able to do it. I'm too attracted to color when I'm shopping.

I did have to bleach it (I got it done professionally), but my hair has held up really well and it was a small amount. I keep the color bold with Celeb Luxury Viral Conditioner. The same brand makes a shampoo, but I didn’t think it cleaned my hair well enough. I’m going on five months since I got it done originally, and it still looks great! I was worried about needing to bleach it again, but I think I can just get the roots touched up in a few months.

I like Vetta for having a few good pieces that can be worn multiple ways. I have found their clothing to be high-quality and they sow a lot of their clothing on many size bodies versus just models.

This is awesome! Thanks!

I also mainly wear dresses to work even when people are more dressed down. It’s just easier. Sometimes I wear a Jean jacket to dress down the outfit a little (and also because I get cold.)

Hi Guys, I need some help. I had joined kpmg global services recently (7 months) back from one of the IT services companies in an advisory role however now I have received an offer from HCL with 40% hike to my current CTC. What should I do. I have heard that KGS gives decent hikes and bonus payouts however the work is completely backend with limited customer interaction and limited good quality. Can someone throw some light on HCL as well, what is good and what is bad and which to choose

How do you guys deal with frequent brain fog? Ive always had it a bit on and off but lately I've felt almost lost in some work meetings because I can't retain anything. Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent. For example, company says, “Parents, please share pictures of working from home with your kids during Covid” for a diversity and inclusion project. Undoubtedly someone responds, “what about my plant babies? 🤣”. I don’t want sympathy but I find it childish. Just give us the courtesy of understanding that plants and pets are not the same. Stop “me too’ing”

Feeling hopeless today professionally. I’ve tried to trooper on throughout this pandemic but today it all caught up to me. Exhausted, mentally drained and just so negative. Feel like all I do is work since covid. Have tried to set boundaries but it’s impossible when people can reach out on my cell. Get taken advantage of regularly for trying to do what right thing to support my teams. I like my job but I don’t know that I can keep this pace and that adds stress too

I’m not a shy person, but I’ve always had issues speaking in front of groups. I grew up with a lisp (which I’ve since overcome), but I still stumble over my words a lot. I think COVID has exacerbated this a lot since I’m not able to see my teammates or read their body language. I’m a scrum master, so leading calls is sorta in the job description. Any suggestions on how to become a better professional speaker?
