Nah, but maybe I just don't care.
Someone in our acceleration center emailed me “I am glad you are back!” after a week off and it almost sounded like he was afraid I wouldn’t come back hahaha
Nope. I just literally needed a friendly into for my email and that happened to work. People are self centered and literally do not care enough to notice you’re gone IMO. Then again I’m always in call…
I think it is just a nice way not to just start right in on what they need you to do…. More of a common courtesy.
I hope not! While I don’t say “welcome back” exactly, I usually will say something about enjoying time off. I always mean it as genuine well wishes, as well as an acknowledgement that they have been out for a while and are still getting back in the swing of things (and may need a nudge, the first email likely being buried in their inbox).
The “this is fine” meme, except the caption is “welcome back”
I take it as “I live rent free in their heads” because why do they remember 👀
Do you tend to assume the worst in people?
Ouch... sorry. It just seems like most people would have good intentions with “welcome back” honestly. Maybe I’m naive.
I like my team members, so I’m genuinely happy they’re back when I say that. Nothing more intended on my part, so I’ve never interpreted it that way on the receiving end.
No
No I really just welcome my collegues and hope they had a good time off
