I’m actually surprised anyone still cold calls. Do you have any success at all cold calling? I HATE getting phone solicitations....

Call me strange but I actually enjoy the physical act of dialing the number - it makes the process feel more active like you are more in control

Are autodialers compliant? Would love to use one, but would need to go through our dnc system of televlock.

Cold calling is still a very viable way to grow a business, though not for everyone. Recently had a young guy start in our office and he did very well only cold calling. Most of my office only cold calls and some have very big books. I built my business cold calling and still do it, although not as much as I should. Recently opened an account t with a guy who has a business doing 100mil + in revenues and about 10 mill in the market outside his retirement plan etc.

I would be careful with the auto-dialer option. One of our financial advisors is being sued AND in process of losing his licenses because two of the phone numbers on his auto-dialer list were on the do not call list.

There is no better solution that I am aware of than www.callfire.com The cloud call center has a four line dialer, voice mail detection, auto message drops your voice message, call record option, specified caller i.d. Between 2-4$ per hour.

Can you elaborate on this a bit? Buy a phone list from one of the thousand places that offer them and have an auto dialer call them? Or are these prospects you already have?

Where are you getting the numbers to call though? I’ve paid for lists and none paid off- am I doing something wrong?

I’d like to clarify that you can use CallFire several ways. One is a 50 dials per second voice broadcast. The other is a system that filters busy signals, disconnects, voice mails, and connects you to the live answers. I see no difference between picking up the phone and waiting on hold until it connects you with a live answer. This has functionality with existing clients, past prospects, and leads that you have sourced that are anticipating your call.

Advice on dealing with criticism of your writing? I write, my supervisor rewrites it, then her supervisor rewrites that. By the time it gets back to me, I just want to go with what the last person came up with because it's so much better than what I wrote, and I'm so weary of the repeated exercise. The process is taking the joy out of writing and negatively affects how I feel about the writing I do outside of work for mere enjoyment.
