Hi! Right now we give $5k per year. We are still deliberating whether to increase it to $10k this year or maybe next year.

As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? How much should I charge a friend to watch 4 dogs at their home over Christmas weekend (2 nights)? The dogs don't have any special needs or medications. I've dog sat for other people in the past but always for free. I also have had dogs of my own for most of my life. I want to start charging people for my services but also want to be reasonable since this is a friend and don't plan to charge a holiday fee. We live in St. Louis. I’m up for early promotion, and I’m curious about the raise %. By getting promoted early I’ll be missing out on one year of 5-8% at my current position compared to most of my peers in the new one. Do early promo raises ever account for this or are they the usual annual + promotion %? If they don’t account for it I feel like it leaves me under compensated compared to my peers. Even with one less year of experience I would still be doing the same job and expect the same compensation.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)

Hi colleagues!

Wondering what y’all would do to help get management from a 1980 mentality onboard for hybrid schedules? My company has a lot of long-tenured leaders, which is great, but they are living in the past with the lack of flexibility, and we’re losing candidates for openings, as well as starting to have more employees quit because we’re required to be onsite, when a lot of our jobs could be hybrid. What do you think could work?
