As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? I'm wondering if I'll have an edge in getting hired as I've been at the GS-13 level before I left the military and I'm hoping I can use that time in service to add to a pension time requirement in the government.
How difficult is it to switch industries in buyside (e.g. healthcare to tech)? Specifically VC/GE. The reason I ask is because my top fund is recruiting me for a sector i dont care for. Wondering if I could switch later down the road

Any good recruiting firms specializing in healthcare for mid entry level (associates 3-6 yoe) that you’d recommend? Specifically, headhunters or firms to help land a new role.

Does anyone else notice the insanely highly salaries made by our friends down south and get disappointed? How do you deal with this disappointment? Apart from the usual Trump, “free” healthcare, etc.
How much should I charge a friend to watch 4 dogs at their home over Christmas weekend (2 nights)? The dogs don't have any special needs or medications. I've dog sat for other people in the past but always for free. I also have had dogs of my own for most of my life. I want to start charging people for my services but also want to be reasonable since this is a friend and don't plan to charge a holiday fee. We live in St. Louis. Would $40 per day/night be reasonable?

I’m applying and applying but I can’t seem to get anyone on the phone. I know I’d crush an interview but can’t snag the contact.
Where do I start on bringing new clients in public accounting? I understand it's all about building relationships and networking, but I just don't know where to specifically begin to widen that and do more actively.
Stock futures are going to crash 3-4 % lower on Monday. Nasdaq losses will be more mild though. At this point there will be a few winners and a whole lot of losers. 15 days of protests and corona cases plus shift into q2 forecast will lead to at least 10% pullback. Long live AMazon and Apple

What are some good extracurriculars to put on your MBA application? If not specific activities, what are characteristics that schools look for in your extracurriculars?
I’m up for early promotion, and I’m curious about the raise %. By getting promoted early I’ll be missing out on one year of 5-8% at my current position compared to most of my peers in the new one. Do early promo raises ever account for this or are they the usual annual + promotion %? If they don’t account for it I feel like it leaves me under compensated compared to my peers. Even with one less year of experience I would still be doing the same job and expect the same compensation.
Has anyone tried to get off of Adderall? Although it helps me focus, I do not like how it effects my personality. I’ve been off of it for one week and can’t seem to focus at work.
Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.
Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.
However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)
Am using Becker and seem to be memorizing the MCQ’s. For those who’ve taken BEC, how close are the exam questions to Becker’s practice test MCQ’s?

May soon have an offer for in-house TA coordinator role but also and an entry level agency recruiter position, contemplating which is most suitable.

Does anyone need a hr coordinator, or entry level talent acquisitions coordinator that is 100 remote? Remote jobs are extremely competitive and when I find job posts on LinkedIn there are already over 100 applicants. Very competitive!I am open minded about salary,I have so much interest in expanding my skills. I have about a year of recruiting in the staffing industry and 6 months as an hr assistant for a corporate/manufacturing company. MA in Hr and will be testing for phr in July. Thank you
I'm an experienced HRBP who's looking for some career advancement advice. I'm currently studying for my SPHR and looking to take the leap to HR Director roles. While I'm a strong HRBP, I've yet to manage a team. And while I train managers on people leadership skills, I myself, haven't had a chance to flex those muscles. Those in HR leadership, should I apply for HR Director roles even though I haven't managed a team?
I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
I’ve been a hospitality manager for 10 years now and I am graduating soon with my degree. I want to get into the HR field. Can someone help point in the right direction? Or companies that hire entry level?

I have a masters in organization behavior, I love being in organizations that are growing and changing that’s why I chose to get my masters in organization behavior. I feel like in the HR world having a SHRMor a PHR is more impressive, marketable and would get me more compensation in the long run. I paid 25K for a Masters for what?however my employer has decided to provide some tuition reimbursement so I’m looking into getting a certification. What’s your opinion I’m

Which websites or magazines reccomend with articles or topics related to Human resources?
So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?
Wondering what y’all would do to help get management from a 1980 mentality onboard for hybrid schedules? My company has a lot of long-tenured leaders, which is great, but they are living in the past with the lack of flexibility, and we’re losing candidates for openings, as well as starting to have more employees quit because we’re required to be onsite, when a lot of our jobs could be hybrid. What do you think could work?
Has anyone used Instawork? Wondering if anyone has positive or negative feedback to share 🙂.
Hello - We are currently recruiting for an HRBP who will lead our Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. The role is remote but will need (when things open back up) to be near San Mateo, Santa Monica, or Miami. Message me if you would like to learn more.

$15k per year after 1 year at company. Only 2 classes per semester.
Where do you work where this is a thing?! I will gladly join your company. 😭
Hi! Right now we give $5k per year. We are still deliberating whether to increase it to $10k this year or maybe next year.
My employer’s holding co springs for up to $3K annually or it could be more if it’s a specialty training/cert we need them to have.
