Does anybody see emerging trends coming up that can change your entire career as you know it. Like AI, remote selling, social selling just anything to change it long term? AI is awesome but it’s always in the back of my head that someday before I retire it could take my job.

YES !! Speaking a second language is huge !! Most people in the US or Americans I should say, only speak English while outside the US, most people speak at least two languages. If you are in the US, you should be studying Spanish. Duolingo is a great resource and it's free.

I don't really see how AI is going to take my job. It may do a lousy version of my job, that's true. That's the thing people don't understand about the Luddites, they were not afraid of machinery and it's not that they didn't understand it. They were offended because it created poorly made versions of the high-quality hand weaving they had done for generations. If a dumbed down society comes to accept AI work as being adequate, in that case no job will be safe, I suppose.

What you are seeing is first iterations of AI. It will only get better and better whereby it will no longer be the poor version you mention. And remember corporates’ mission is not to create jobs but generate profits and if they can do with cheaper AI than paying a human then that is what corporates will do globally.

I feel bad for the future because AI will take all of the jobs lol

I think Ai enables sales rather than replaces it. It has been helping me a lot with for sure but nothing can replace the human interactions

I have been a remote health insurance agent since 2020. Although I miss office camaraderie and shenanigans, working from home is a great perk. No commute, lunch at home and just like with every sales job, I am responsible for my own success. Any thoughts about an employer sharing the cost of commuting? That might be the only way I would consider returning to the office.

AI will take many tech jobs in 3 - 5 years, not 10 -20. It will be at an exponential, predictable rate that exceeds regulatory response time. Plan now.

I’m a Junior product manager with a Master’s in Healthcare Management. I feel like the current company that I am at has my title as JPM, but I am doing PM work i.e creating product roadmaps, collaborating across stakeholders (business, marketing, design teams), creating user stories/features, etc. and I feel like my work isn’t being valued and I’m constantly being micromanaged by business teams expectations.

How feasible is it for me to apply to a PM role with less than a year of experience?

It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

My company has always had SalesForce but it was not really a tool that we used or that anyone looked at. Over the last year my company has put more stress on growth (to be acquired or IPO) and they are now obsessed. I love sales and wish I could stay as an individual contributor, but I feel like I am not getting anywhere with the salary i want, and the job itself I feel isn't using all of my potential/skillets (plus I'd like to learn and put into practice more).

So I'm really keen to hear from others what steps they took in their career to get into roles they love doing now but still within the sales side of an organisation.
