Ab-so-lute-ly. Saves me so much time every week. When I actually get to be at home, I don't want to be doing chores
It really depends on how messy you are, and how much you find cleaning to be therapeutic. Apparently some people do. For me, I couldn't live without the cleaning service
I also highly recommend a robotic vacuum! I bought one when I was contemplating a cleaning service and found that it’s enough for me. It depends on your needs.
I agree with absolutely. It is the end of the day, you are going home having been in the office 10+ hours (billed 8). Do you really want to think about chores?
100% worth it.
I am convinced that outsourcing unpleasant chores offers the highest level of economic utility—highly recommend if you don’t like cleaning.
No because I can’t put shit away to save my life so it always ends up being a huge struggle and family fight the night before cleaning people come as we are trying to put shit away so they can do their job. I’ve just learned to be at peace with a messy house.
Yes !
If you have kids - yes! I have more time to spend with my family because I outsourced this task. In pre-life kids I did it myself because it was therapeutic.
I was always hesitant about biting the bullet and hiring a cleaning service largely due to how I grew up (working class family, child of immigrants) - my family’s view was why spend money for someone to do something you can do yourself but this is definitely an antiquated view. I recommend a cleaning service 100%. It makes a huge difference in how I spend my downtime. My family and close friends live outside of the city and I can spend the whole weekend with them instead of rushing back to my place on a Sundays to clean and get organized for the work week.
I’ve also been debating hiring a cleaning service.
What’s an average cleaning service cost?
$300 for my big house
Yes. Especially if you live in a small space and are never there. Have them come once a month and it saves you hours that you can use to enjoy whatever free time it nets you.
Yes. Totally worth it. Best money we spend.
Realized you asked what it costs. We do $120 every other week. But we have a 2 bed/2 bath condo. The lady we have is wonderful and changes the sheets and puts laundry away too. I’d give up wine before I stop paying for her.
Yes. Do it. You will not regret it!
Yes. WORTH IT. I hired a family friend off Facebook and it’s $20 an hour
Following up on this discussion, what are some of the trusted, tried, and true cleaning services y’all have used and recommend? Definitely looking to make that plunge to outsourcing this task.
Yes - very worth it! Get my house cleaned biweekly
Do you stay home to supervise the cleaning service or have them come while you’re at work?
