Does anyone actually CHOSE to fly united? Awful airline, awful terminals, customer service unknown because no sane person could what that long to find out.

Yes I do. Much better than American. Asked AA to permanently delete my profile.

like

Living in New Jersey yes. There's not a lot of other options from EWR

like

I choose united over AA

like

OP, you're at about a 10 right now. I need you closer to a 4 or 5- it's Sunday

like

Because my friends and family all live at united hubs (sf, Denver, Chicago) and they have a much better boarding process than AA

like

Maybe delta is better if you're a no/low status plebian. But this is a consulting forum, I just assumed we all had top tier status. I forget there are many ama-toors here

like

4 million on American. Global on United. I prefer United.

like

I'll fly whatever get me there when I need to. From EWR, United has more options.

like

I choose direct flights. For the last quarter, that's meant united.

like

Don't get me wrong, I agree that their terminals and service are lousy, but so are delta and American as far as I can tell from my experience on all the little regional jets. Hopefully someday, we will have more choices than our big 3 federally subsidized airlines. Then, quality will be a differentiator again.

Haha SM1. Good joke!

I'm from Atlanta, so I'd never fly Delta - it's always United for me

like

Asc1: I'm global on united and diamond on Delta. United is definitely better. WAY better mileage program -- using GPUs on international saver award flights, anyone? Once global upgrades are easier -- I never fly coach on united. Shit, delta now getting even comfort plus is a Pain in the Ass sometimes. It's no contest

PwC 1 - been at the bar lowering back down for the past 3 hours... all I can hear is these gate attendants suggesting everyone test their onboard baggage in some basket... sounds pretty budget. Reminds me of sleazyjet.

like

So you have no CHOICE

United > delta

Rarely have issues on United. It's fine.

Flight times check. Airport check. Direct. United rules.

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

What's the norm for consulting firms during a shutdown? Do people on non funded projects usually get furloughed or kept on? Asking because I've been at a bigger firm that kept everyone on during the last shutdown, but I'm at a much smaller company now that is going to furlough on a project by project basis (if your project is shutdown, you get furloughed). Just curious if this is commonplace among smaller firms/what the norm is for bigger ones as well? What's been your experience?

Accepted an offer to join a small mom and pop firm (~50 ppl) there’s ex big 4 there, I’ll be running implementations as a Director. At a tier 2 firm now (going on 4 years) only a small pay bump but better title. TC could be much higher as they claim to pay a high bonus. Don’t start until end of July, and haven’t yet put in my two weeks. Sort of regretting the decision to leave. Feels like this would prevent me from getting to big 4, MBB or similar sized firm later down the road. Thoughts?

ACN fish (or any experience consulting fish): what's the process of getting rolled off a client engagement 3 months early. Am on a staff aug and it's terrible. I've flagged to leadership in the past that the role doesn't align with my skills but nothing changed. I would rather quit than stay here if they don't get me off but it's so unclear if that's even an option. Any advice?
