One of my best friends did. They kept coming back for RFIs (maybe twice), but she got it in the end. Just have to make a good case.

I used to be on a TN visa and the process was super simple: I got a letter from my employer that contained very specific information regarding the offer and their needs. Fill out the online application, go to the embassy interviews, and get your visa in the same time it takes for a tourist visa. The big downside is that you only get it for one year at a time and have to renew it every year. This was 4 years ago though, so I’m not sure if things have changed.

Thanks! Do you I know how long the process was ?

Thanks man

Hmmm...several months? Was a little crazier than normal because of the political situation with Trump was my impression.

Thanks

Spent a year in banking at an EB but had to go back to school because of H1B visa issues. About to start as a BA at McK in the fall. Any thoughts on my ability to recruit for summer 2022 PE Assoc roles? Or do I have to spend minimum 2 years in consulting before making the switch?

Hello, I am 36 and have over 250k in savings. I started saving late (at 32) as I didn’t make much and lived in NYC. I used to be on a visa and had little to say on my salary negotiations. Upon getting my green card, my salary doubled when I changed jobs and I started saving extensively. Today I make around 180k a year and am able to save $4.5k a month and 7% towards 401k. I have no kids and I am looking to maximize savings. Any advice? Thanks!

I’ve been on H1B October 2019, expiring in 2022. I’m kind of clueless as to what happens next. Does my firm start the green card process soon because it’s been almost 2 years (ive heard/read you need to work 2 years before they do that at big 4). What does that entail and how long until the green card comes out after that? And when they renew my H1B for another 3 years is that a guarantee extension and not a lottery like the first one?

Adventures in Interviewing: Today we were wrapping up a pretty good interview with a strong potential candidate. When asked if they had any last questions, they said that they had an issue with our Work from Home policy (we’re 100% WFH right now, and will not consider a re-opening strategy until everyone is vaccinated). The candidate declared that they did not believe in vaccines, so we needed to allow her to be a permanent remote hire. I guess I’m glad about the dodged bullet, so there’s that.

Have a great opp with a new company for a leadership role and to make a run at partner. BUT there are partners that I had a huge negative interaction early in my career (my first consulting company, we’ve all subsequently moved around). At the time I was young and in the wrong and one of the partners tried (unsuccessfully) to sack me. Should I reconsider the move? Would they block my bid for partner based on bad blood from 10 years ago?
