I am looking to switch careers. I have been in my current career for nearly 20 years. I need a change. I have masters degree in instructional technology, health care administration, and English. I am working on trying to work my current skills into today's job market. That is more difficult than I anticipated. I guess I'm wondering if there really is anything out there to switch to? I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.
Bain/McK 🐠, considering a move from a healthcare consulting firm into healthcare-specific roles at your firms. Any insight on hours/culture would be much appreciated!
Is there any place in the US where one can see a doctor first and choose to pay later? Essentially, I don't want to be asked whether I agree to have my insurance charged for a doctor's visit until I first hear the doctor's solution to my problem.
Having an off day already and wondering how so many people seem to be able to keep it all together so easily. I have friends and family that just handle everything with such grace and never seem to drop the ball or have to scramble to find time or energy to put into all of their priorities/obligations. Why is it so hard for me to even remember to schedule regular maintenance things for house/car/health, etc.? Maybe this career is just draining my cognitive capacity. I'm so tired.
Anyone ever see someone’s health deteriorate while working in public accounting? 3 years in and I feel as unhealthy as I have ever been. My family is noticing and constantly asking if I am okay. Wondering if others experience this. 🧐
Just getting started with Healthcare Consulting projects after working mostly on FS clients. Does anyone have reccomendations to ramp up on Healthcare/payer/provider knowledge quickly?
Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!
I just started at a new job and noticed that whenever I go to start work, my blood pressure spikes (from 120/80 to 150/110) along with my pulse (from 80 to 110). I like what I do but it’s hard to ignore the affect on my health. What should I do, aside from meditation and deep breathing (which I’m doing)?
Speaking of boutique firms. What's the name of the trendy millennial one with crazy health benefits that was ranked #1 recently for fun and WLB? I think it was in PA and did primarily healthcare...

Does anyone have experience with Lemonade homeowners insurance? Annual savings for me is ~$1600. Thanks FB!
Saw over 15% jump for homeowners insurance vs last year’s same policy. Is this due to high material cost or what? Is this widespread impact on home insurance premiums?
22, healthy, single, M. Should I really max my HSA? I completely understand the triple tax savings but my thought process is I don’t think I’ll have a large med expense for a while. I know, I know, I know anything could happen but the likelihood is pretty low rn and I don’t want to lock this money up for solely health costs when I rather be saving for a house down payment or continued education. I still plan to contribute to it, but should I really max it out at my age??
Me: Your daughter can wait here in the lobby while we do a quick health history, then we'll bring her back to your room. Patient: that's not my daughter, that's my wife

Hey, I am a first year tax senior in EY GDS (GES). Manager is already planning to give me the responsibilities of an AM. Can i except a promotion/progression to AM next year if I am performing as expected ? Or is it too much to except. Thanks in advance
Hey all - I got an awesome new job Accenture in the applied intelligence practice as a consultant. I am also doing my MBA part time at a T15 school. The MBA exit salary is on average 150k for consultants in my program. I was hoping that when I finish my MBA, I would be able to ask for a raise to match my salary to what those MBA folks normally get. Is there a way for me to request that in ACN? If so, how open are leadership to that conversation?
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
Just sitting here thinking.. Dang, I got a 3% annual raise. I feel worthless to my firm. I should leave.
TC in GDS I'm staff grade-4 what would be next promotion? And what would be salary range after promotion?
Favorite video game(s) when you were a child? I’ll go first: Ratchet and clank deadlock and Pokémon (from ruby red to heart gold)
Anybody been offered a promotion with no corresponding pay rise? I assumed that was impossible but am worried that may be what's on offer. Surely not??!

Getting an offer without ever doing an in-person interview (i.e. Skype only). Is it a thing?
Is it rude to suggest to a new analyst that she needs to look more professional, e.g. don’t show up with wet hair to client meetings (even if on Zoom)? FYI I’m also a female and just trying to look out for these new hires
Has anyone implemented workday for a company less than 400 people? What consultants did you use?

If anyone wants to study for the CFE but doesn’t want to pay the full price for the study materials and would be interested to split it, please DM me
Does anyone else feel stifled from the current cancel culture and leftist views many of our peers enforce? My of my friends with similar views remove ourselves from any remotely political topic because we know there would be backlash if we were even imply we had conservative or right wing opinions. Why is it acceptable in a working environment for one side to shove their agenda down other peoples through but not acceptable to have an alternate perspective?
Looking to join McK as an exp hire and recently scheduled for “power round” (4 case/behavioral interviews) in 1 day, is this first round or is the goal to make a offer/no offer decision after 1 day?
