Does anyone carry a second personal laptop while traveling for work? My current personal laptop is an 2011 MacBook Pro so I’ve been looking at upgrading to something more lightweight. Recommendations?

iPad the way to go

I'd rather travel with an iPad than a second laptop. iPadOS should make that choice even easier.

Probably depends what you want to use it for. I tried out the iPad Pro but some mobile software like the trading (TOS mobile) app doesn’t have the same capabilities as the regular app on my MacBook. Ended up remaining with the MacBook for personal use due to mobile app limitations

This should be resolved in iOS 13/iPadOS

12” MacBook or 13” MacBook Air have worked well for me

15inch gaming laptop

I bring my Surface Pro
