Reposting in case someone out there didn’t see my last one. Looking for a house swap in Manhattan/BK for ours here in Oakland. We have a big 4 bedroom Craftsman, yard, close to all the outdoorsy beaches, redwoods, hiking, Tahoe, Muir Woods etc stuff and SF. The air is finally clearing up. We need a 2 bedroom. Need to come back to NY and see my people. DM if interested.
I work a 9-5 & got my real estate brokers license a few months ago but today is my first day putting in effort to do real estate on the side- I’ll let you know how it goes!
Good luck!
(Real estate agents to clarify)
I know people who do and people who don’t. The people who do it full time make a lot more and build better connections than the ones who don’t. It’s a lot more work than it looks

Depends if you’re talking about being an agent or investing. I invest in sfh real estate, not the easiest time to find deals but it is improving. Definitely recommend getting educated and looking into your first deal to get your feet wet, look up bigger pockets.
If you’re talking about becoming an agent, its all about your drive to be a good salesperson. Takes alot of patience, sales and social skills to be successful especially the past few years but definitely doable. Im a socially awkward weirdo when it comes to sales and social skills with strangers so I’ve stuck to the investing route for now.
Depends if you are going into real estate agent or loan path. Either will require you to learn lots and at least pass some certification. Additionally, both require a lot more time / prep work than most think.
Add to that the current interest rates, and now may not be the best time to break into it unless you have a mentor that can guide you and throw some deals your way.
Source: worked in real estate, brother and SIL still work in real estate. It's getting ugly out there.
