I don't really care what they want to call themselves, but in my experience those who do use this term are the ones that always try to get me to eat weird animal parts despite my vehemently expressing disinterest. So I'm just immediately defensive when I hear it.

Yes but as someone who genuinely is into food (ie. passionate about trying different cuisines and experiences, all the details, not about clout), I don't know what to call myself because it sounds pretentious af
