Yeah, sounds like you’re asking for Clear. Ngl, it’s definitely worth it.
Pro
Sometimes it’s faster to go into regular security line than it is to go through pre check line in some airports
Rising Star
The analyst is calling people amateur, this must be /s
Rising Star
“Amateur travelers”? Get over yourself.
The end goal is for everyone who flies to have some version of “precheck”, that was and is the original intention of the program
Yep, now you need tsa pre and clear, but don't tell anyone..
Rising Star
Yup
What airport are you typically flying out of? I’m in ATL and basically never wait and clear would add zero value.
ATL system is the worst. Clear helps a little. But Thursday night departures are torture, the x-ray system is a failure. 20-45 mi uses from getting line to getting your bag from the x-ray is common.
That’s exactly why I got clear.
I fly out of IAD and DCA, never had more than a 5 or so minute wait at either. My personal record remains a whopping 3 minutes from getting out of the Uber to getting through security at DCA around 8:00am on a Monday morning.
IAD security is quick, but the walk + train/shuttle can take forever
I’m with you OP - flew out of SFO this afternoon.. the display said TSA 15 mins, General line 10 mins.. I’m not kidding.. not only does everyone have TSA, the number of people that get in the TSA line only to be told by the agent that they don’t have pre-check is appalling.. like everyone forgot how this works..
Is 5-10 mins really that much of an annoyance that you post about it?
It should have been frozen like 7 years ago, same for clear
At thr Denver airport it seemed like the pre check line was longer than the general this morning lol
Which credit card offers clear for free lmao
If you’re really such an experienced traveler as Analyst says they are, Clear should likely be free through your airline (Delta Diamond here).
Let's reframe the discussion. I think it isn't so much that there are too many people with precheck, it is that airports don't dedicate enough resources to service tsa precheck customers.
Rising Star
Or they could apply those same resources to just getting everyone through security more efficiently and effectively
Rising Star
“Amateur travelers” lol
Hey start calling them “the others”
