I’m the opposite. If I’m ever sitting at my desk. I’m just pretending to be productive, waiting until the next time I can go to a meeting room.
Same here
Absolutely not. When I am around my coworkers they just talk my ear off and I feel like I lose half my day.
It took me a while to figure out how to actually focus with all the non-work distractions. It helps to have a dedicated office space at home.
I agree with this. I also find that getting up and getting ready like I would for a work day rather than lounding in sweats helps me to be more productive.
You're not crazy, I just don't want people who work like you do ruining it for those who don't have that problem. :p People who do well in the office should be able to go in; people who have no issues with remote work should be able to stay remote.
For me the office is worse since people are constantly socializing because they need a break but can't leave til 5. I'm not big on the "work family" type situation, so I honestly don't care what anyone has going on in their lives. Don't get me wrong, I get along with anyone. However, these people are only near me because they were hired by the same company.
Nope. I just turn on some music or a random radio station to get some sound in the background if I want it — usually when I’m doing simple work which quickly gets boring. For thinking time, I like being undisturbed and uninterrupted.
Working from home, I can get laundry done or quick personal calls at my home desk. I can put lunch in the oven and work through the cooking time. I don’t want to go back more than 2 days a week and that only to chat to people and build relationships; the foundations of collaboration etc.
I like that my breaks at home can be mini spurts of home productivity instead of wandering around cubicles or the kitchen and just chatting with someone about stupid stuff for a few minutes before going back to my desk. I get so much accomplished without having to physically be locked down somewhere else 8-5.
Absolutely the same
You're not crazy! The office is literally built for work
I also read it's not healthy to have your office too close to your sleeping spot, if that's also your wfh set up
Hell no…
I like working at the office but I can't stand my co-workers sometimes. It's been an on and off love for me.
No. The office is like a classroom to me I'm too likely to chat it up with a coworker or find some busy work to do (because there is always something). At home, I get straight to it and don't stop until it's done.
I have never worked from home! The office is for work, home is NOT. Love going to work, then love going home!
Once I upgraded my home office chair and monitor my productivity went up 📈📈📈
I'm a big advocate for the right office desk and chair, it makes a huge difference! When I'm uncomfortable, I adjust and stretch and get up to loosen up a lot. This causes me to pause what I'm doing.
Background noise is my biggest thing!
I realized I work productively when I'm in a setting where I can see and hear other people working. I get you.
I love working in the office and feel the same way.
For me, I find that the distraction at home is more of my procrastination thing when working on my own and not being watched (not that anyone in particular watches me at my office but there's always that self consciousness that people are going to think you are slacking off). But also, I get less done when working on a 15" laptop at home then my large double monitors at work.
