does anyone else feel like you’re expected to work 24/7 because of this stay at home order? because they assume you have nothing else going on?

Yes, my boss is sending assignments on Easter...

Same here...

No I’m not allowed overtime. They expect me to cram 16 hours of work in an 8 hour day.

I wish I had work to do 24/7

like

Yes. Emails and calls all hours of the day and night. Also weekend work/emails

That's the "double-edge" of wfh. All nice and dandy until they expect you to work til 10 pm cause there is no clear delimitation of when you leave work

I’m working what is expected - which for me is not working weekends or longer hours than necessary. Boss has had some “adjustment” in understanding that just because he’s working at his house doesn’t mean that I am. I start at the same time I started before, and I finish at the same time. He seems to be starting later and finishing much later, and I just won’t respond when I close up for the day.

like

Where are you working

Yes

like

Yes project leaders pinging me on Skype in the evening and sending work requests over the weekend, and the rest of the team respond over the weekend too!

like

The expectation feels the same to me... it was never any less before. If there’s work/deadline to meet then you better meet it. Maybe it feels worse since you’re viewing the demands from home instead of being onsite?

like

Nope

Yes

Nope. I shut my laptop each day now.

They always expect that tho

Recruiters, please stop cold-calling at all hours of the day. It’s extremely disruptive and discourages people from wanting to work with you. Also, please do not try to reach us on through our personal emails/numbers (how do you have these anyway?).

What are some safe, affordable, and convenient places to live for a late-20s female? I’m wfh for the foreseeable future and want to spend less on rent. Everywhere close to Boston is getting so expensive and parking can be a headache. Would like to live close to public transit to go to Boston occasionally (I’ve started to value peace and quiet more). Also any forecast on rent prices? Is 1500 a month for a relatively nice studio or 1b1b realistic if I move further away from Boston?

Has anyone considered becoming a real estate agent just to save on those RE agent fees? If you do just one transaction per decade for yourself, seems like you'll still do better even considering ongoing TREB/OREA/brokerage fees. Need to spend $5k initially on courses/exams and 6-12months of time, but seems to make sense long term. Am I missing anything?

So recently my SO has been accusing me of being in control of when we are intimate (sex and cuddling). She says that every time she wants to I say no - and whenever I want to - she says yes. So it's by default doing whatever I want when I want. It's a gross exaggeration of what's happening - but does anyone ever deal with something like this? How do you say no to something like that - without your partner thinking you're just looking out for yourself or you're controlling?
