Does anyone else feel the need to agree with counsel for other parties in cases where there are dozens of parties? Or when there are many attorneys attending a deposition, the need to limit your questions to make time for everyone? I’m young and it seems like I feel that pressure more than other senior attorneys in cases, and I wonder if I should adopt their mindset. I just want to also look reasonable amongst other local lawyers and not pompous or unnecessarily combative.
Don't be the first to blink.
That’s normal to feel but you need to first and foremost do what your client needs you to do. If that means lengthier questions or not going along with everyone else then that’s what you do.
Not particularly unless it’s my client’s wish to go with the flow of their co-defendants for business or strategic purposes.
