What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too
Stock market looking great. Unemployment numbers improving already with so many states still waiting to open. Hope we can rebuild our great economy and bring it back to pre-covid numbers soon🙏
I hope this’ll Hollywood continues direct to demand releases after COVID19 ends https://www.buzzfeed.com/whitneyjefferson/new-movies-being-released-on-demand-not-in-theaters?utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=bffbbuzzfeedvideo&ref=bffbbuzzfeedvideo
Google is providing all US-based employees weekly COVID tests by mail using bioiQ. Any consulting firms out there doing the same? Seems like a great perk.
Covid WFH... exactly this feeling
Has ghosting gotten worse during covid?
I recently began to feel Covid-19 symptoms and decided to get tested (waiting for results). My husband took the rapid and tested positive. Meet the Teacher is Monday and school starts for my students on Tuesday. If I have to quarantine, I have no idea how this will work. Will a substitute meet my parents and review the routines and procedures? Has anyone experienced missing the first week or two with your class? I need advice.
COVID WFH: Maama or Maami Thaligai?
If you’ve been laid off during COVID or in the past, do you tell everyone you know or just people who can help you? I have been laid off due to COVID and tried to tell most people in the industry so I can find work, but I’m finding it emotionally draining to tell each person in my life, including every friend, relative and neighbor, that I am unemployed. Sometimes I just say everything’s fine when they ask me in order to save face and avoid their pity. Is this normal?
Anyone ever test positive for Covid? My husband and baby are positive. (Baby is fine, husband not feeling well) I’m negative. Any advice?
My friend has Covid and is all alone. I’d love some suggestions of good care packages I can send her!
Might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not terribly thrilled with the new Halo Top ad. I’m all for body acceptance but part of the reason COVID hit the U.S. so hard is because of co-morbidities like obesity. There has to be a line btw “real” bodies and not celebrating a state that causes so many medical issues - Ie overweight without the medical definition of very obese. Do you think brands have gone too far in the other direction?
Anyone else concerned about the long term negative effects of working remotely? Seems to be a minority viewpoint, but I question whether this is sustainable post-Covid for personal, psychological, and profession-specific reasons.
In one month we cleard out a 5000 sq ft office space and turned it into a lab running high throughput COVID pcr tests (600 per day rn).
Why is city not sending at home covid test kits to city employees and residents? I spoke to my friends in asia and most countries are doing it. Who should we reach out to?
I thought there was a Top Golf in Wrigley? Did the project get shut down over covid or am I thinking about another chain? Trying to make plans for the bfs bday and can’t find it on Google.
11,000 new covid cases today - most since January. Am I missing something? What ya’ll doin these days? I found the headline puzzling since the city technically could be a herd immunity scenario (state is at 69% vax but city is higher) and many unvaxxed already had covid. Do we think it’s mass events like concerts or back to the office or just the consequences of thanksgiving? Curious to hear your theories, not a dissertation on politics
Switzerland question: if im an American driving into the country from Italy, does that mean I'm entering "from Italy?" Already have the covid certificate fwiw
How does sick pay work in the U.K.? Will I still get paid if I have the flu and take some days off?
I have just completed my first of 12 CIMA exams and I can’t seem to motivate myself to study at the expense of my side hustle when I don’t see myself in Consulting long term. I know I will gain some valuable lessons from CIMA for future ventures but it is a 3 year qualification alongside a demanding job with minimal downtime. Should I try and qualify or focus on saving money and my side hustles? Also, do I need to qualify to work as a consultant in Big 4 or can I opt not to sit exams?
Mid year compensation: Have any Cyber SCs been alerted to their mid year comp? If so, what’s your percentage increase and new base?
I'm about $1000 PQP away from making it from United Gold to United Platinum for 2022. Is it worth it to upgrade my IAD-SFO RT flight to first class for $1000 RT to make it to the next tier? Is United still halting full meal service for first class flights > 2 hrs? Website says they just serve sandwiches and a snack box.
Has anyone heard of Centrical? Any information on their culture and quality of their products?

Hello Nagarrians, I recently joined Nagarro and got confirmed in project but got rejected in 3rd round of client interview so they released me after a week. Does it mean I was on project or i was on bench? I've heard they fire people on bench after two months.
Are there opportunities to work India while continuing to work from EY USA? I’m looking to be home for a few months but cannot move there at the moment as my green card process was initiated recently
Feel beyond burnt out over the last 6 months. Over the summer I knew it was time for a new job but I waited in the hope my current role would improve. It did not. Now the prospect of working anywhere, new company or current, seems exhausting. The potential of a new role doesn’t seem like a solution anymore. Has anyone else felt this way? How did you manage it?
Hiring question: candidates today are requiring very high salaries and we are getting to a point where the average candidate for a particular role is asking for more than I make. I just got promoted and got a 9% increase, which I’m not terribly happy with. Now that I am trying to backfill with this new level of salary and I want to use this opportunity to go back to my boss to get an bigger increase. Any advice or thoughts?
How do I make these maternity jeans stay on? I feel like they keep falling and that makes it so awkward!
I didn't get my H1B lottery this year, and am trying for a transfer to the Canada office. I will likely get a job offer soon, but the it seems like we need a minimum of 1 year work experience for an intra-company transfer. Is this correct? Are there any other options for a transfer?
We have openings for senior IT Auditors at my company (F500 Financial Services Co.)! Zero SOX testing, 40 hour work week, amazing culture, 100% remote if you want or hybrid, it’s up to you to decide. DM me for more information if interested!
How do you rebuild your cash after a large expense? We recently did a necessary renovation to part of our home, and even though we tried to be economical, it was still a big expense. We agree on the big picture of why we did it, but are having sticker shock and also are both nervous and clamping down on spending for the time being. Is this a good response? Is there a better one?
Full-time MBA or EMBA? My company (EY) would pay for EMBA, but require me to stay with the firm for 3y post graduation; MBA would be on me and I have no more than 50k in my savings. The reason I am considering full time MBA is that I am not sure I want to stay in consulting, especially not in EY. Also, I am 30yo with 7y of experience and was recently promoted to a Manager. Any advice?
