Mine can’t relate because his job is different, but he does sympathize and understand why I’m so miserable. He also says all the time that he couldn’t do what we do (and my new response is that I can’t either bc I need to find an out! 😂).

My partner just told me he’d run his head against window glass if he were to do my job… I think it’s totally fine for them to be occasionally annoyed and frustrated (when it comes to special dates, commitments, super long period of busy) but if they don’t like it and express discontent constantly or often, I think you probably will have to give up the job or the partner

I try to take advantage of the slow time by spending more time with SO and take care of chores/life things. And SO steps up more when I’m busy. I also think there is a huge difference between (1)SO being worried for/about you and relationship and (2) SO being difficult or pissed bc they don’t get exactly what they want all the time and that you’re an adult with a particularly demanding job

I’m thinking about applying at WTW for a Senior Account Manager role in the Chicago office. How do referrals work at WTW? Also, I have 4 years of experience in group captive insurance programs as well as most ancillary lines on the broker side. I want to move to a larger company since I’m at a small place with not much room for growth currently.

Hi all,
I graduated during Covid with a double major in business administration and business management with a minor in marketing and magically ended up in sales because I needed a job. I’m about to take a data analytics course to make an attempt to break into that field. I’m currently looking for a mentor to help guide me during this time. Also, if anyone is willing to look over my resume and give me tips on how to make it more presentable for recruiters in DA that would be very helpful. Thanks

Have any of you did something similar recently and are enjoying the new job change?

He said he'd like me to learn more strategic thinking and leadership skills and recommended I get involved with a local business organization. Any recommendations?

Is it crazy to consider a move in-house at the moment, given the market? Heading into my 4th year and now that I’ve received an interview request, I’m semi-panicking, thinking it may be safer to tough it out in big law for a little longer instead. FWIW, the opportunity is in-house at a well-funded startup and a decent sized legal team. If the state of the market wasn’t a consideration, there would be no question for me, but here we are…

Today marks two weeks from Milbank. DPW, you had two full weeks, which generally translates to roughly at the least 100 billable hours of any given associate’s time. I’m sure you are charging out your midlevels at at the least 1k an hour, so that’s easily 100k * whatever realization percentage you have. That’s more than enough to make up for whatever flimsy 5-10k raise we are asking for, no? I just went to bed at 2am and woke up at 6 for 4 fire drills. Let this misery end, Sir DPW, esquire!
