Does anyone else here have a passion to eventually start your own company someday? I really just want to work for myself, be my own boss, make myself money, etc but I don’t know where to start. Should I start a side project on the side? Figure out what I’m passionate about, what can make me money, etc?

I’ve thought about it before. I’m weird in the sense that I actually enjoy doing tax so I’ve thought about starting a small seasonal tax prep service for individuals and small businesses. Have other hobbies too but unfortunately they’re not really money makers/I’d rather just keep them as hobbies. My advice would be to ask yourself what you enjoy or what you’re interested in and start there

I do but am a few years away from being able to do it at a profitable margin I could live off of without a salary.

Also have a company name and logo, just need funding and clients!

Don’t worry about it, you got the hard stuff done already.

In the midst of launching two right now! Totally broke but completely happy.

I left the race and created a small business. For a host of reasons it didn’t work out. Three years later I’m back feeling like I’m at the bottom and I did this shi*t 12 years ago. Financially, I’m way behind. All that being said, it was the best experience of my life. I loved it. It just didn’t work. My rationale is do it while you’re young enough to recover the money. Hopefully, you won’t ever have to look back.

Yep going through the same thing - my friend has already launched and I will join him soon . What helped us was changing our perspective e to constantly ( every day) ask - what problems can I solve ?

Has anyone started a new job right before going on maternity leave? I have a few other job prospects, but none know I am pregnant...

Hi Fishes,

Is there a way to know your client or atleast the industry before joining IBM? I'm from supply chain domain and I have one more offer. HR isn't revealing this information.

I was fired last month after a short time at the company. I knew things weren't going well- it was a terrible culture fit & I was also planning my exit strategy. They wouldn't give me specific reasons other than to vaguely say it was performance related. I agree I made a few dumb mistakes (none of any dire consequence) but what kills me is that I tried really hard. I don't want to change careers but I have a deep seeded fear that no matter how hard I try, I will never be a "good attorney".

Hi all. I am licensed in life, accident and health and am looking for new opportunities. I’ve been working in employee benefits in a small brokerage firm on a book of business of over 400 clients, I’m the only account manager. We’ve had 100% employer retention since I’ve been here. I am a high performer, but not sure I’m valued much at all . I want to reach the top and become partner in my career ; this is why I went to work for a small firm. My boss favors others when I do the most work!!

Any SAP analytics cloud developer here? Quick query, client wants a column root causes ..now this column is not available in S/4..now the S/4 team is not cooperative enough.

My leads suggested SAC has comments option. However comments are not going to help users either. Because it will not show graphically which root causes contribute the most.

So my question is now, does SAC have an in built excel option which would allow users to enter root causes across materials and then SAC refresh this

How would you rate your ratios for work, play, and rest?

My life's mostly been 85% work/serious stuff (includes academia), 10% rest, and 5% play.

I've only started to learn to rest more this year and learning to accept lower productivity (was part of the hustle culture).

Q: How do I learn the concept of play? Didn't have that in my childhood growing up. All serious, no fun. Has anyone transitioned successfully?

I feel like a boring, old lady 😔😒

What is your definition of play?

I prepared an email to follow up which was a collation of links, white papers in attachment etc which took the morning to put together. My colleague, who is a male who had initially set up the meeting and chaired it was to send the minutes after. (1)

If I transfer and have no choice but to work on insurance/claims, would it be better to stay in auditing? Is the insurance/claims work demanding/difficult intellectually wise?

Deloitte folks - I moved to DT Canada last year due to not getting picked in H1. However US made it clear they will apply again (if and when I ask). Planning to have this conversation with PPMD mid Jan. Does anyone know if there a cut off imposed by Seyfarth after which they won’t consider candidate for FY22 lottery? I know they typically ask for info in Jan which is why I was planning to raise this again now. Just want to make sure I don’t miss the FY22 H1 attempt. TIA!
