Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?

Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). Consumerism ruined Christmas. But my family doesn’t make a big deal about gift giving so I still appreciate the holiday and enjoy the season.
honestly feel the same way
Nope. Looks festive here
Yes, very much so. The pandemic definitely contributes to this feeling, but I also think it's just where I am in life. I don't have kids. My nieces and nephews are all in college or nearly so - so no little kids to get excited about the holiday. My family is scattered across the country so we aren't getting together. And at this stage in my life there isn't anything that I really need or want as a present - and if there is I don't really want a forced holiday to get it.
I guess it could depend on the expectations your family has, but I am of the mindset to do whatever you want for Xmas that fulfills the spirit of Xmas for you. Sometimes I want to do the full on gift giving and family experience, other times I want to do something unique. Last couple of years I was with fam, tree, traditions. This year I’ll be doing remote camping in Sequoia (not due to covid or anything).
👍. Nice departure from the commercial aspects of it.
