Of course we all do. I was regularly bringing home $3k a week after taxes just from the OT & bonuses.

Ok woof yes but...it's not worth the trade lol. But I appreciate the honesty and I think many of us share the same secret

More people feel this way than will admit it. No one wants to admit that they miss anything about COVID, but we all wish the pay would have stayed at the same level after the pandemic.

Hahahaha I am sorry but I find this funny. Who wouldn't love to receive hazard pay? But it is not worth the trade. That is just ridiculous because I'd rather pass on the extra pay than to compromise everyone's health.

Missing the numbers but definitely not missing the stress. That was a rough time for everyone. I don't ever wish to experience that again.

Hahaha. Am I gonna get any hate if I say yes? Just the pay and not the workload. lol

I actually do. Now we get paid the less and less since 2020. So much hate for this. I hope they value as just as much as they did 3 years ago.

Glad I am not the only one. All those hazard pays got me some of the things I wanted for the house. Salary now is just abysmal

Covid? No. Covid pay? Yes! I also really miss getting free stuff from local businesses and all the support. This is a bit controversial, but when you take all the suffering and deaths away, we got something good out of it.

The hospital management is still processing all our hazard pay including our covid pay (for those who contracted covid while at work). Imagine that. We are yet to receive the total amount.

I got my hazard pay last month for the whole year of 2021. They only paid half the original amount. I'm not even sure if we can get our pay for 2022.

I never had any. Even hazard pay. Well, they gave us a bonus so I'm not sure if that counts.

Covid travel question - for Spain I had to fill out a "health control form" because I am connecting in Madrid to go to Italy. The form had me check a box if Spain isn't my final destination (which it's not) and now says TRANSIT across the top of my QR code. I am connecting to another airline so will need to go get my bags - will I have any trouble since I assume getting my bags is within Spain and after immigration

Any recommendations for industries and roles where you are required to travel for periods of time across USA or internationally? For example, I worked at a trade show company (before CoVID event industry layoffs) and loved the balance of office & show travel. I have a bachelors in marketing but have mostly field sales/sponsorship/event coordination experience as well as wine/spirits industry experience (3yrs). Google search results “travel blog” or teach English are not helpful. Thank you :)

TL;DR: Social Security matters.

My wife & I are 35. If we quit working today, at 70 we are entitled to a combined $50k in annual SS in today’s dollars. (Source: SSA.tools)

$50k real is significant. Let’s be conservative and say that a 70 year old couple spends $100k per year. That’s SS meeting half of your required expenses.

Current law with current demographics shows that SS can fulfill 79% of benefits into perpetuity.

Assuming SS will disappear means working decades longer than needed
