I'm curious... How do the different firms do performance management? Annual appraisals? Project reviews? Numerical or qualitative ratings? Forced rankings? Anything you particularly like?

I have almost 13 years of experience in people management, operations, and new project transitions in US Medical Billing, and US Mortgage and currently working as a Shift Manager I am looking for suitable role across ay location. I am looking for referrals from the fishes.

Hello! Any tip for pricing a pitch for an international client? It's for concept, script, headline, tagline for a YouTube video + print campaign. Budget 400k

Just finished a big client presentation with several partners on the call as well. Time to sleep and recover the entire weekend lol. The stress/anxiety from these types of events wear me out.

Dear Client,

Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool.

I’ll call you later.

Help - I’ve been put on a 10 week project with just a Manager who I’ve just met. I’m only in week 2 but the whole time I’ve felt a constant feeling of stress and anxiety, which is really not like me but it’s exhausting and makes me dread coming to work everyday. I think it’s stemming from a mix of the anticipated timeframes being very tight, not having clear teams roles between us and the client and feeling out of my depth. As a consultant, what should I do?

My boss doesn’t seem to be happy with my work. I am strong on strategy and brand, when I ask related questions at kickoffs, they make comments like:”nobody cares.” Or “We just need to get it done.” Or “The client doesn’t know what is a brand.”
What would you do if you were me? Talk to them about it, or just start looking?

Looking for advice - I am an internal designer at a respected agency. I work on the agencies socials, do presentation design, and help any other internal needs (logos, events, web, etc). I’m really struggling with how to present myself + tailor my portfolio as I look for the next gig as I lack any real client work. Does anyone have any advice on how to market my experience? Thank you!!

Any advice on how to get my energy back? Staying home for this long is starting to make me feel lonely, and my current project at work is not challenging me. I’m constantly feeling drained, and doing something simple like reaching out to friends/colleagues instantly makes me feel exhausted. Anyone go through something similar?

Might start a bit multi-year project when I am ~5 months pregnant. Wanted to hear from moms at companies that do lots of those long projects, how does it work with mat leave? E.g., do they just avoid putting you on because they know you’ll disappear after four months, or can you start, leave on mat leave, and come back and slot right back in? I’m worried because everyone keeps saying doing this particular work will cement my career but they don’t know yet that I am pregnant (it’s still early)

As someone at a big law firm but not a BIG law firm I see posts (especially one recently) about people in their second year getting to do depositions and motion hearing etc. Out of curiosity when does that stuff start to happen in big law? Are y’all really “just” drafting for over a year? I’m 9 months in and have taken/defended depos, argued motions, and lead client strategy calls. This is not a brag but I’m just curious.
