Yes. I'd send condolences via text or email and then again in person upon your return.
A manager that cares about the person, not the resource, should have called you directly to extend their condolences.
We are human before anything else!
My sincerest condolences for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
Yes, very insensitive
I'd assume they thought I wasn't going to be checking email. But I'm very sorry for your loss.
Corporate world don't care
Sorry to hear that.
I had this happen a couple of times this summer. Peers reached out, managers reached out, partner did too. But we're all pretty close/friends so no surprise. Other people with just a working relationship didn't mention anything - not a big deal really. I never told them why should I expect them to know?
I don't think you give condolences via email, seems better to do that in person upon your return
It's business these people don't really care about you they are coworkers.
Other possibility maybe they did not know what to say.

If you work closely with them, they should have said something or sent some sort of message. Death is weird but you can still be human and show some compassion.
Yes, I'm close with these managers and have worked with one for 5+ years. Thanks everyone for the condolences
