I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google
Hi Fishes,
Does Deloitte USI have any cool down period, if you apply and do not get any response from the company? I had previously applied in a role, but didn't hear back from them. So, I'm planning to try to apply via referral this time and I'm wondering if I should use the same e-mail ID or a different one! Deloitte USI

It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).
This job is miserable without travel.

Natural/self selection taking over. Firm is giving in and leveraging the PR this brings short term. If this is your preference, go for it. My opinion is you will be isolated and become a very transactional employee, no matter how good you are at remote networking. Will be interesting to gauge how it is going in a year or so.
Partner here. Agree that it will be interesting to gauge how it is going and adapt. I don’t plan on traveling much personally as I don’t want to. I understand that I may have to occasionally.
I’m kind of torn here. While I don’t want to be required to go to an office 1-3 days a week, I also don’t need to be 100% virtual. I’d prefer to travel 1-2 weeks a month and work remote the other weeks with an option of going to the office if I want or need to. This does sound like having my cake and eating it too but it’s where I’m at. I really miss interacting with people in person and the relationships that come from that. I also miss traveling. I seem to be the minority here but that’s okay. Haha. I’ve always been the odd ball out.
Glad I’m not alone in this!
Totally agree, it is a false choice. No travel and team is located all over the country. What is my alternative to being remote? Sit in an empty pwc office?
I do think it will come with a bias
Agreed
As of now its only through FY22
This. In a year or two they’ll be like “our clients need us on site to sell trust in the New Equation 2.0”
You have a choice of not working from home indefinitely 😉
You are going to have to define “BS”…

Can someone throw some light on this? Was there recent communication indicating they will be moving towards a wfh culture? I'm starting in 3 weeks.
Yesterday’s firmwide webcast. Should be in PwC inside today too

This really only changes the work paradigm for Tax people who were used to going to the office daily.
Idk, if I’m going to have to work 60 hours a week I won’t be upset at avoiding an hour of commute 5 days a week.
3 hours a day for me.

I’m not sure that’s exactly what they said. And I don’t think that’s what anyone walked away thinking. Besides you.
It isn’t all… it’s consulting.
Trust solutions is tax.
It’s only until June 2022… read the fine print. When associates start disappearing and not answering pings during the work day in the next 8 months, PwC will reverse course real quick.
Is that what's happening now? Because we're all already remote. So no reason to believe things will drastically change after 2022
