First pregnancy during covid and I just feel so alone. Not being able to celebrate with my friends and family, not having a baby shower. I just broke down in tears. I don't know how to cope anymore. 😭😭😭
How do you divide your time between your kids? My second is an extra needy and demanding, high spirited kid. My first is laidback and easy going. I always feel like the eldest gets the short end of the stick and never gets enough of my attention even tho she’s always been more attached to me than my husband. She never gets one-on-one time with me as it is since her sister (now 2) is still super glued to my side. Any suggestions for juggling this? Or to ease the mom guilt?
Our nanny takes my 7 month old out for one, sometimes 2, long walks every day (weather permitting). Love the idea of fresh air every day but its often for several hours at a time and he always returns home crying bc she's pushed him to his limit between feedings. She brushes it off saying hes just fussy which kind of irks me. Im also concerned that he's spending too much time strapped in a stroller. Is it reasonable to ask her to take shorter walks? Am I overreacting?
My husband has a strong sense of duty towards his parents - I’ve been very encouraging of it - making sure he has the freedom to be there for his family and parents in whatever way they need or want (e.g. sleeping over at his parents at least 2 nights, attending family events, making sure he goes to all their doc appts, maintaining a relationship with his sisters and their children, etc). His family and I are not from similar backgrounds so we have our struggles so I keep a distance (more below)
About to join a Big 4 in 3 weeks and just found out that I'm pregnant. Will I still be eligible for parental leave?
Anyone successfully negotiate maternity leave in industry? I feel like the only reason I’m staying in B4 is for the maternity/parental leave benefit. It’s hard to find a tax manager role in industry with a comparable 16 weeks paid leave. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
10 weeks pregnant with twins. Starting testing on Friday with my obgyn then fetal specialist end of the month. Does anyone have any experience with twins, testing, tough decisions, and being over 35. Im freaking out over twins as I’m 36 and did fertility treatment to get pregnant. I didn’t think it would work and boom, first try, timed intercouse with meds, two babies. I’m a very small person and nervous about the health of both babies as well as my own. Any advice or experience here?
Any moms have the Caraa baby bag? FTM here and debating between the large vs medium. Large seems pretty big but not sure what to expect with first baby and how much I will need to lug! Just wanted to see if there were any opinions!
That director or partner who had a lavish looking house overlooking LA (I think) with a swing outside for his mother and beer taps on the patio. This has been on my mind since three days and want to be you when I grow up!
Considering PE, but concerned that the work-life balance is just as onerous, if not much worse, than consulting. Can PE folks be great at their job and have some semblance of a family life (ie evenings with fam, mostly free wknds, vacations without interruptions)? Don’t want to be an absent father
Random but say you had a flat earth father and anti-vax mother, is their child destined to fail? How do they recover from such a regressive mindset
Mom 🐠s, when people give baby gifts, what do you prefer? Thinking of getting a close coworker something for her newborn but i have no clue what and where to find decent baby stuff. If i buy clothes, which size/age do i go for since they will quickly outgrow it?
2020 happy update, got blessed with a beautiful baby girl! 2020 is suddenly looking better y’all. Happy Tuesday :) Peace ✌️
My husband would like to go back to school to pursue a master’s degree and break into a newer field (which is IT). He currently working as a manager / co-owner of a Subway and money is not always stable. I am very scared though of what the future holds and if he would be able to find a job. We have a baby and a house.. thanks mamas
Y'all my biggest dating challenge so far is that I do not want kids. I keep running into people who are good people but they want kids 🤦🏾♀️ For 🐠, who choose to be child-free, how do you navigate. What kind of advice you can give me?
How did you find a doula? In a city that I’m not connected to new moms. Peanut users all seem to be non responsive. First time being pregnant..
2012 accord, 53k miles or new vehicle? Currently have a 2nd child on the way and wife has a compact suv so I was looking around potentially. Given my daily drive is under 10 miles round trip if I am going to the office I am starting to think I don’t need a new vehicle and can get by. I have looked at cars and it looks like 50k-60k (Acura mdx) I would pay cash and money is not an issue. Pros and cons of a new vehicle. For what it is worth I love the accord, fun to drive and no issues ever.
Fellow 🐟 how do you fight the desperate feeling of wanting children, but knowing it is too soon? 24F, married 1 year. I want to travel and enjoy life, but every time I'm near a child I melt.
14weeks pregnant here and super excited! As I’m a planner, what is the maternity policy for Accenture? The HR manual can be a bit ambiguous so asking for someone who’s been through it. I live in NY state by the way.
When do you send your thank you email after an interview? Same day? Next day? Would you keep it simple or reiterate why you're the right candidate for the role?
Slalom salary range? Been in the Salesforce Consulting space for about 4 years now. Sounds like a great place to work is the pay competitive?
Decent profile and 80k pay at a big 4 or shitty profile and 140k pay in the industry? In either cases getting no where!!!
MBA at 28? Feel like I'll be too old.
Recommendations on sailing lessons in Chicago?
2.5 YOE in consulting - being offered partnerships role at Sony. Comp doubled but am also interviewing with MBB. Should I take it or stick with consulting? I’ve enjoyed consulting so far (to promote this year), but am also a music lover!! Not sure if exiting now is ideal if I can exit out to a more senior role in future. Any ideas on how’d you approach this?
Lol what’s with the flurry of posts here today? My guess is that Thursday night travel tires people and also gives everyone down time to complain.
Hi all, Has anyone used a report from at home covid tests to enter the US? Does that work?
Does anyone have Kaiser Permanente medical insurance? Any reviews on the Kaiser facilities/doctors/premiums in the LA area (near west hollywood / culver)? Thank you!
Forget your company - how is your specific division/team doing in the age of Coronavirus? Any concerns about profitability or job security?
How long did it take you to feel confident in your practice? I feel like as a junior (I’m about to be a 3rd year at a large firm) transactional attorney I have a handle on basic due diligence, but really don’t know many important commercial points or the market stance on those points. I feel like I’m miles away from being able to actually/confidently provide value-add advice to sophisticated clients.
I'm calling it quits. With the most recent rejections from EY, KPMG, Crowe, then rejected and ghosted by PwC, I'm hanging it up. Deloitte still has me in their system since the hiring blitz but nothing has come of it since October 2021. I'm done chasing and I'm taking a break. I appreciate those that helped me out before. Thanks again.
Hello everybody, I have an interview with Deloitte M&A analytics team.. it’s a case round. Any idea about the format or what kind of case they might ask ??Deloitte
Skyrockets in flight
Hi Fishes, I'm working at an Israel-based publically listed company in insurance software solutions (i.e. a product-oriented company). We have multiple technical and non-technical positions open with us ranging from DevOps Manager to Lead Analyst and product manager, all for Bangalore Location(however, we are on WFH since March 2020). If anyone needs a referral in an innovative, evolving, and dynamic IT company, with a really good work-life balance, then do ping me.
Fed S&O SC compensation? Non-top 25 mba, 5 years work exp. in DC naturally. Would be a campus hire.
Received 25% bump in recent market adj raise to ~$110k. Received an offer this week from EY for $130k. I like my current project and team at Deloitte but not in the career area I want to grow in. Advice or recs in general? On managing negotiation?
SO stressed from the apartment hunt. Went to see a couple of places that looked nothing like the photos. Was told by one place that: “We don’t like roommates.” Brokers asking for a $200 fee just to apply. So many 1 beds being sold as 2 beds. Current landlord ghosting me when I want to stay. If anyone knows of reasonable true 2 bedrooms in Murray Hill or Kips Bay please let me know...bonus points if theu are offering a deal rn 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Is anyone hiring for project management/program management roles in the NY area or remote jobs?
