I definitely have spikes but usually only a couple weeks until I can manage it. My advice? Do less. Seriously. As a CTL, I really crushed myself by trying to do absolutely everything. My new philosophy (totally enabled by being a manager) is to make the job work for me and have my supervisor tell me it's not enough... I doubt that would happen as much as you think t would!

Manager is pretty sweet for me. Feel like I have a ton more control over scope, hours, etc. or I'm more willing to push back and not go the extra 10%

@B4 I'm CTL now and have seen that benefit sometimes but then a given case can still be crushing (PEG); and I'm sympathetic to "leveraging" the team in a way that makes them have the same thoughts I'm having

OP really fascinating to hear you are feeling this as a CTL. I always assumed this was an A/C-only phenomenon. On one hand I'm sad it will never go away, but on the other I now know to cut my CTLs more slack!
