Does anyone else who got a raise in the last year feel like they are not ahead of the curve anymore with prices of everything going up left and right?

There’s an official term for this, it’s called “inflation”, which was about 4.5% last year. If your raise was less than that, you’re actually worse off.

likefunny

Definetly worse off and will be at least untill the new raises come into affect. Especially with new FT summer joiners especially new staff probably coming in higher than current staff 1/2s that will be making more untill raises hit.

I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?

Hi! First time working with a larger company - suggestions on handling pronouns at work?

I’ve worked with smaller agencies where it was easier to bring up. Now I’m on a larger team, talking to/referencing people I’ve never met. I’m less concerned about my own pronouns and more concerned about how to make sure I’m using the correct pronouns for the people I work with.

I’ve been structuring sentences to avoid gender specific pronouns but would love to hear suggestions. Thanks!

What is fair compensation for a SM1 with 6YOE as a people manager?

I was just promoted from M1 to SM1 during the year end cycle. I’m curious what to expect and am hopeful that my promotion doesn’t wash out my merit increase.

I’m currently at 135+20% with one year of advisory experience. I’m hopeful bonus is closer to 30-40% this year given my YE performance review.

I’m at an advisory firm with 500-1000 employees and located in a HCOL city.
