Does anyone ever feel like they have to do ALL the thinking for their team? I know as strategists, we’re the secret sauce to a lot of goings-on with brands. However, I sometimes feel like folks on my team don’t actually think about how anything will impact the brand/strategy and then just come to me for insight on a half-baked idea that’s off strategy but for some reason has already been shown to a client…

A culture that understands strategy and what it enables is hard to build. You'll either have to take on that yourself (CSO level job) or find a place that has it baked in.

Ughhhh. I hate the truth of this. 😮‍💨

I work with media planners and buyers instead of creative, and feel this tenfold. I almost feel like no one even reads the things they propose or fixes to issues, nor understands even the surface level of what the brand is.

I just wrote an unsolicited rave review for a buyer to her VP when I moved accounts, because she genuinely considered strategy and goals when putting together plans & problem solves. That should be a required skill for someone with 5+ years in advertising, but she’s virtually the only one I’ve ever had.

Hi All,

I have an offer from JPMC and joining is on the 23rd of this month. I have given 2 rounds of interviews in Dell and they said I'm selected, only one round is pending and they need 1-2 weeks of time to release the offer. Should I wait for a Dell offer or join JPMC.

I have already spoken to the Manager and MD at JPMC regarding the project and other things. So I'm confused whether not to join JPMC or not.

Dell is ready to offer around 6-7 LPA more than JPMC

Did I just open myself up to a lawsuit for employee poaching? A former colleague of mine (I was their mentor & project lead, not her boss) has been wanting to leave since around the time I left. I said things like the minute I can hire someone, you’ll be my first call… (continued in comments)

Working moms in advertising - genuine question - what is a (relatively) low stress role in advertising or at an agency / consulting firm? I can’t do always on, high-stress jobs like account / client management anymore and maintain my mental health (I have small kids).

It’s taken a LOT of self honesty to admit this. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but for now, I need a change to be fully present in my personal life and mentally healthy. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you! 🙏

Hello Everybody.
I really need leave for two weeks. My project does not have long leave policy but it has strict target policy. The last best leave I took was for 4 days only. I really need a long leave so I can have a vacation atleast once. it's been 3 years I worked in my current project. Never taken a long leave. Plz suggest me good ideas. I'm not sick but getting depressed day by day.

I'm a Sr. Project Manager and for the next step in my career track, which do you think is better to go for: a Program Manager or a Director of Project Management? I'm based in Atlanta. All thoughts are welcomed.

This question might anger some, but not meant to be provoking. Does anyone else feel that half the jobs in tech (scrum master, project manager, product manager, etc.) are more hindering than helpful? I feel like productivity would sky rocket if we didn’t have 10+ hours a week added of admin work/agile ceremonies/status meetings, and you just let developers and analysts do their job. Why are we spending hours learning how to estimate story points (for example) rather than improving production?

Is it just me or is work so much less interesting when WFH? Not that I am dying to be on the road or at a client site again but I feel like it’s generally a more positive environment at least when I am in the room with my team. I am probably just missing the in-person social interaction even though I am not super chummy with my colleagues.
