Does anyone ever give honest feedback in exit interviews?

Nope. You give the feedback they want to hear. You get nothing from being honest. They don’t care about your feedback anyways!

I did as an associate. Pay it forward and tell the truth.

I only give truthful feedback short of the potential to burn bridges. Just how truthful you can be varies depends on the organization, but always err on the side of disclosing less, rather than more. And it’s 100% legit to not give any meaningful feedback at all.

One time I did. Went on a rant to HR for over an hour. Got thanked profusely. However how that was filtered back to the partners by HR resulted in no substantive changes and only a few cosmetic items according to associates who told me after.

So did no good and had the potential risk to burn a bridge so … maybe keep it toned down?

like

Nope - they don’t care.

I witnessed it once at a smaller firm. The partners denied everything. Nothing changed. More women left, including me. No women have joined since (there is a really bad but accurate glassdoor review), so maybe it was the right choice. Also the firm might just be afraid to hire women again. I don't know that I'd take that risk at a big firm.

Don’t rant but maybe pick some things that could be improved and watch a video or read a book about how to give feedback.

Hard Conversations is a great book.

Yes of course.

I know of two associates were honest about a monster partner in our commercial lit department. They apparently spilled everything and literally nothing happened. Why bother?

Definitely not an issue of a lack of mechanism. It’s a culture issue. The partnership could fix these issues and chooses not to. At my firm, you’re only going to burn bridges by being honest in exit interviews because they don’t care.

I am on my notice period and almost 1 and a half month left. I am ISTQB Certified and have a good skillset as compared to the current market requirements. But I am not getting many calls for the interview.
Is it because of the notice period ? Coz many companies look for immediate joiners or someone who can join within 15 days.
I am quite worried! Can you guys share your thoughts on this!

Hey everyone! I’m interviewing for an HR Generalist role at a Fintech company, this will be their first HR hire and will be reporting to the CFO. I got invited to a second round interview to meet the team to ensure that it’s a good culture fit. I would love to know any thoughts on what I should ask or do to ensure that I am great fit. I left a good impression on the CFO but would to see what else so can do when meeting with the team since it’ll be a 2.5 hour meet up. I’m really excited!

FX & Treasury Sales Job at a bank in India

I work at an US bank in a middle office role in India but I’m not liking it much because it’s process oriented. Now I’m getting an offer from an Indian based bank for the Treasury and FX sales role but I’m so confused about the job security and targets. My questions are below:

1) Will I be asked to work for 12 hours?
2) Will I be given targets and if I don’t meet it, will I be fired or something?

Lateraled to a new firm a few weeks ago and they've staffed me exclusively on their slammed financial services litigation matters. Anyone else "struggling" financially? I know, it sounds ridiculous. Two kids (pre-school), mortgage (10 yr I/O), loans (but not huge), full time nanny (7 to 7), and just life expenses. Wife also works full time and does decent. We both max out our 401k, but after all our expenses, at the end of each month, I'm stoked if we can save a dollar. And struggling is definitely the wrong word, but just curious if any other mid/seniors feel the same or had any tips. We live in Los Angeles.
