Anyone else feel a little uneasy that the industry press is praising a CMO who fired the agency who resurrected KFC, ran one of the most brutal pitch processes in years and has immediately made the work much worse?

You know how phones used to make that weird loud interference clicking noise if they were next to a speaker? That's what phones do to pilot's headsets when they're trying to land the plane that you're riding in.
You’re going to get us all killed! You maniac!
So you're just a jerk?

So I’m a pilot (expensive hobby), and it’s not headset interference that’s an issue. On a clear day with no clouds, it’s also generally fine and unlikely to cause any harm as pilots are flying visually down to the runway
Where it can get you is in low cloud ceilings and crappy weather where the plane relies on an ILS or VOR (50+ year old radio tech) to guide the plane to 200’ above the runway pilots can’t see, as opposed to a mountain or building a few degrees in either directions n. Sure, the wiring is shielded and it would need be a perfect storm of interference and ringing phones, but why chance it?
Once you’re through the clouds and over the runway it’s fine, unless your pilot has to go around and re-enter the clouds...
I have to believe that if there was ACTUALLY a concern they’d never allow phones on planes at all.
Your phone is supposed to be in airplane mode the whole flight...
I guess I don’t live on the edge. I put it in airplane mode the whole flight.
But seriously who does? I never do
I only do it if the flight was bumpy
Oh well. Still doing it! 🤣
I guess I just don’t really buy that it’s truly a threat because if they’re taking my toothpaste away then if my phone was an actual concern I’d never be allowed to have it
@W+K1 i heard that it's not an issue these days given modern cellphone technologies and advancing aviation systems
