I received & accepted a job offer. But I haven't heard back from my new employer. My last day at my current job is this Friday. I was in contact with the internal recruiter from the new firm all last week, but I never got acknowledgement of them receiving my signed offer letter. My start date is contingent upon a background check. I haven't received one single form to fill out related to that. I feel like I shouldn't say anything because I've already been coming off as extra eager. Any advice?
I’ve questioned it at various times in my life- but NEVER when I was able to raise my children without a nanny. That being said, if your focus is working as an attorney not in big law, I think you can have it all.
My husband was the “main” caregiver with a less focused career and flexible hours until kids were school age. Three people would have been great, but we did it by ourselves. The good news is jobs can change with your needs. An employer who sees your value will work with your changing needs. I worked part time for 3 months during a particularly rough patch. And you don’t need three people if you are an “out of the box” thinker and valued employee. Part time was possible for 3 months because we didn’t have a nanny.
I thought about going to law school at one point. Decided it wasn’t worth the extra debt. It’s possible to do both. You’re also young so you have plenty of time to start a family and establish your career. Would you regret not going to law school?
I have always thought about it. It was my childhood dream. I started a family early and later found myself separated from my husband.
Here we are in 2022 and I’ve enrolled to finish my undergrad stuff before I go to Law School. You can definitely do both. I’m 35 now, divorced with an 11 year old.
