It's called a trackpoint. Still the best in the business.

I've always used it. Every laptop should have one. When I switched to a trackpad-only laptop my productivity suffered for months. Still does.

P2 how could it possibly be easier or more user friendly to use that thing over the mousepad? I don’t get it

I love the nub! ~an old millennial

It is more efficient than a mouse. You don’t need to move your hands away from the keyboard. I am amazed at the number of consultants that travel so much and use a mouse. The nub is super convenient.

C1 - I found it far easier to scroll with one motion rather than lots of repeated swipes on a trackpad. I could get more precision in aiming the cursor where I needed it to. And it was a more natural motion to switch from moving the cursor to typing.

No, it’s called a TrackPoint. Trackball is an actual ball you roll around and it’s huge

like

Had to use it once when I spilled water on the trackpad

I’ve seen a lot of people use it but I personally don’t like using it. Also, it’s called a trackball 😃

P2- did you forget the hashtag- #punintended?

Only use it

Thread: I’ve been talking to this company for months and the recruiter has been in and out with communication. A few weeks ago, he reached out, apologized for the delay and explained they needed to figure out role priorities but that they’re moving forward, I’m a top candidate, & they wanted to wrap up interviews and extend an offer the following week. He never reached out to set up interviews and hasn’t replied to any of my calls or emails.

1) Unlimited PTO: I will be aiming for around 5 weeks (200 hours) of PTO in addition to the paid holidays and the summer and winter shutdowns (19 days). Is this feasible?
