Does anyone feel way overpriced for industry? As in looking to leave to industry, but every role in the associate/ analyst level is way too low paying. Does industry pay better at the senior associate/ senior analyst level? Or is the disparity from FDD to industry the same at higher levels as well?

Industry is more what you make of it. You will make a lot more than fdd if you do well but fdd on average probably pays more

What jobs would pay more long term if you do well? Curious

Are you judging based on the advertised range? I would do the initial recruiter screen and throw out your number and see if they flex. I’ve had companies go pretty far above the range to get the right person in the role. But I do think this bargaining power strengthens as you move up.

Time for IB apps

In most cases you will get a pay cut from FDD. Unless it’s anything Investment banking/private equity related. You can lateral to restructuring/consulting practices but that will only be a slight increase (unless A&M).

Anything else FP&A, Corp Dev, Accounting, etc. probably a paycut or similar pay. Unless you get significant equity and depending on size of company.

I’m in industry, pulling 130k base (+bonus +equity) after leaving FDD as a senior. HCOL.

If I give up equity, I’d expect at least a 200k comp package. Definitely doable if you network + have a stacked resume

Which location nyc and what’s your role now VP of finance?

KPMG reached out to me earlier this week and I’m interviewing for a tax position tomorrow morning. JD working on CPA. Working for a regional firm right now making $79k. I like it, but the benefits aren’t great.

Would anyone working in tax at KPMG recommend making the switch? What do your hours look like? Are you satisfied with the benefits?

Has anyone made the switch from tax to private client and if so what has your experience been?

This is so AWKWARD. We had our holiday party last night and everyone was drinking (open bar) a group of us went outside to grab cabs together and go home, everything was cool. Tell me why once I got in the cab I got a drunk call from my manager asking if he could get a cab to my place and if I would give him the address 🤦🏻‍♀️. I'm single and not mad that he finds me attractive, more worried that all my other coworkers heard him calling me while they waited with him!!

Having an Interview this week, and don't know how high I should set my salary expectations. I currently earn 24k/annum base + comission. Would it be unreasonable to say that I have 30k + comission atm? I think it also hardly depends on the location, I am currently working from Poand but would be working for a swiss company.
Currently have about 7months exp. and thoughts on this?
Appreciate the input
