I'm in comp negotiations and I was offered the choice to increase base and decrease bonus or vice versa. I'm moving to a new city so cash on hand would be nice, but a base bump is better in the long run. What would you do?

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. Why is that you see people rise in the profession of teaching who prosper to Principals. Is it What they Know? or Who they Know? with a Masters and with Honors my district has never even considered my Principalship even though I completed all the requirements. The rule: Principal recommendation- I will never see a Leadership role. This is due to my role as a Lead for the Union. Not Fair - Teachers for Teachers - turned bad for future roles.

This is my 9th year teaching. The biggest change I have noticed is parent support. It’s gone from, “I’ll handle it,” to “Not my child.” It’s only been 9 years. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it widespread enough to be a cultural shift?
