As a senior about to graduate, I have been applying to jobs and searching for a position. Sadly, the last couple of months I’ve had no luck. With my 3 years experience as Marketing Intern has given me a lot of experience and skills. The jobs who decline my applications have informed me that I don’t fit the description and the necessity’s for the position, though I match the descriptions they provided. How do you stay motivate and keep looking when you feel burnt out? Any advice outside that?

If you're a contractor and the organization still hasn't hired you on full-time, would they care if they realized you are looking for other opportunities before your contract ends? If so, would they still consider offering you a full-time time role?

My take on it is if they're not willing to commit yet 4 mos. into a 9 months stint, why should I? I realize they have a hiring freeze, but still.

Almost 3 years into a position as a “technical engineer” that does both project management work and design work. During my career planning discussions I’ve been asked whether I want to go down the manager side of engineering or the technical/design side. Wondering what advice you have for making this decision. My understanding is that usually the management route offers more room for promotion and a higher pay ceiling, however I became an engineer for the technical stuff. Thoughts?
