Hi 👋🏼 need advice on buying home on H1B visa. I am planning to buy home in NJ and the homes I have seen so far are either too old or fully renovated but expensive (>1M). The one I am thinking of buying is an old home (1910s) as I really loved it. However, the main issue is the old cedar shingles siding which is cracking here and there all around the house. I am new to the home buying market and looking for advice on if this issue is fixable and should I pursue or leave it bcz of this one thing?

I am really worried that due to car shortage and job losses thefts are going to go up.
