How do you say I don’t actually live in Dallas without saying it? By failing to mention the following spots:

R+D Kitchen, Hillstone, Honor Bar, Montlake Cut, Neighborhood Services (On Lovers), and Drakes

like

Yes KPMG it is bigger, but failing to mention these spots and neighborhoods overlooks a material part of the city. Apologies if my remarks were offensive in any way

I’ve been living here for 4 years, would say those are basic restaurants but solid choices.

There’s a Rye on Greenville now if you live in Dallas! Delicious.

Windmills

Was also not impressed by it at all

Il Bracco, Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill

like

Love Il Bracco.

Uchi (sushi), Nick & Sam’s (steak), Monarch (Italian/fish/steak), noodle wave (Thai- Richardson location is best), Tejan in downtown, true lucks (a chain, but good seafood), sushi Saki (Richardson - sushi), Cadillac pizza (McKinney- pizza), spoons (McKinney - breakfast)

like

Yum, I've been to a few of these and they were delicious spots! Still need to try some, but I trust your opinion, since the ones I've had are so good.

Best restaurant in Dallas right now is the Meridian. Anything in the menu is worth trying.

Re-up carte blanche. Best meal I’ve had since moving down here from Chicago

C1 - the Carte Blanche review was just published in the DMN. You might appreciate it.

This just became my favorite post. More than anything posted in Confession bowl 😀

Depends on what you’re looking for.
Nonna, Lucia, Il Bracco and The Charles are my favorites for pasta / Italian. Carbone just opened in the design district and it’ll be worth checking out.

Roots Southern Kitchen is a modern take on southern food and I bet Derry wins a Beard this year so go while you can.

Mot Hai Ba is great. Meridian. Petra and the Beast gets a lot of recognition and the chef is pretty talented. I would research her style before you go so you aren’t surprised. Cry Wolf is new and worth a visit. My husband has a restaurant called Homewood that some people like (I think he is very talented). Gemma and Sachet have great wine lists and cook seasonal too.

Teppo, Mr Max, Tei An, uchi and Shoyo are the best Japanese.

Jimmy’s and Sandwich Hag have great sandwiches.

I haven’t been to La Mina in the Village but it’s on my list. I like Jose on Lovers. And La Resistencia is so good and they have a cool Sunday brunch.

I love Lucia and the Uygur’s and everything they do. I still think their food is incredible. Every restaurant has their ebs and flows, especially when you cook seasonal and have to constantly change the menu. They were hit very hard with COVID and shut their restaurants down to protect staff and still paid their benefits for as long as they could. They closed two of their restaurants permanently during COVID which is crazy. David is extremely talented and he can take my money all day. If you had a bad experience go back…spring is a great time to eat at seasonal restaurants.

There is only one restaurant that other people mentioned on this thread that I would steer people away from. But anytime you support local, I am all for it!

Kai sushi !

Try Si Tapas - Spanish food 🇪🇸

Haven't yet but it's on my list too!
