hey folks, I am going to join Oracle ossi in Hyderabad location. I have never been to Hyderabad, and will be relocating. Please guide on what would be good areas to look for rent. Also, what would be rent like for 2/3 bhk. Ideally my budget for rent would be <25k. Initially I will be going but in future my family will join me once I am settled. Any points to note or any other gotcha to keep in mind ? Please suggest.
I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

Others may disagree but I think you and your spouse alone are capable of sorting out your retirement plans. There are a few good (in my opinion) books you can both read that will give you a basic blueprint for what to do. I don’t think it’s necessary for you to hire someone since that will cost you both in the long run. Check out “The Simple Path to Wealth” by JL Collins, and “I Will Teach You To Be Rich” by Ramit Sethi. Both books are great and simple to follow for how to set your financial plans. The fact that you’re contributing to a 401k is good (even if 401ks themselves are not the best - or so I’ve heard), as is your wife having a pension. Good luck!
Simple Path to Wealth is a great book
Joel Smit at Northwestern Mutual is awesome. He’s located in Chicago but takes clients in other states too.
Agree! He’s a great guy!
I have used a planner from Northwestern Mutual for nearly 20 years.

Where does your spouse work? I want a pension.
Public service. Great benefits hours and pension haha. And no 7 years of school. I’m jealous to say the least
